strengthening the agricultural research system.

The Institute has national mandate for research into all aspects of animal diseases, their treatment and control, and the development and production of animal vaccines and sera.

We seek application from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below in the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), a parastatal under the aegis of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN):

Job Title: Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer

Location: Abuja

Duties

The Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer is the Research and Administrative Head of the Institute and therefore, responsible for the research and administrative management and leadership of the Institute.
Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of PhD in relevant disciplines, have extensive research experience as evidenced by scientific publications with a minimum often (10) years cognate experience in a Research Institute, College or related organization.
In addition, candidates must have ability to provide research/administrative leadership and also have clear and articulated vision for the development of the Institute.
Terms of Appointment
A single term of Five (5) years only.

Salary
Political Office Holder’s Salary Scale.
