The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti was established in accordance with Decree 33 of 1979 based on the Federal Polytechnics Act (Cap. i39) as amended by the Federal Polytechnics (Amendment) Decree No.5. of 1993.
The Polytechnic, located at Kilometre 8, Ado-Ikaree Road was established for the training of middle and high level technical manpower for the economy of the nation. The Institution caters for a large student population enrolled in full and part time programmes at the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels. The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredits all academic programmes the Institution runs.

- The Registrar is a Principal Officer of the Polytechnic and Secretary to the Governing Council, the Academic Board and other statutory Committees as well as any Sub-Committee that may be put in place.
- He/she is the Chairman, Junior Staff Appointments and Promotions Committee.
- The Registrar is responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day administration of the Polytechnic except on financial matters.
Qualifications & Experience
The prospective applicant must:
- Possess a good Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in the Arts, Social Sciences or Humanities from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning with at least 18 years cognate experience or a Master’s Degree plus at least l6years cognate experience of a Doctorate Degree plus at least 1 5years cognate experience in Institutions of higher learning.
- Be a registered member of a recognized relevant professional body.
- Have occupied the position of a Deputy Registrar for a period of not less than five (5) years in an Institution of Higher Learning preferably in a Polytechnic.
- Not be more than 60 years of age at the time of applying for the position.
- Enjoy excellent physical, and mental health with evidence from a Govermnent Hospital.
Qualities
- The Registrar must be a person of proven integrity. He/she must be intellectually and professionally sound and knowledgeable in the rules and regulations of the Polytechnic system.
- Also, he/she must be versed in the Public Service Rules and be computer literate.
- He/she must be able to assist the Chief Executive, the Polytechnic Governing Council and tb kod.,iiIiC Board in fonnulating sound academic an uanve policies.
Tenure of Appointment
- The appointment will be for a term of five (5) years in the first instance and may be renewed, subject to satisfactory performance, for another term of five (5) years and no more.
Salary and Other Benefits
- The salary attached to the position of Bursar is Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salary Structure of (N5,407,503.00) per annum.
- Also, the appointee shall enjoy other benefits of office as may be approved from time to time by the Federal Government and as applicable to the office of a Principal Officer of the Polytechnic.

Location: Ado-Ekiti
The Post
- The Bursar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of the Polytechnic.
- He is responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the Polytechnic and co-ordination of the Bursary of the Institution.
Qualification & Experience
The prospective applicant must:
- Possess a good honors degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning plus ICAN, ANAN or equivalent professional qualifications with at least eighteen (18) years post-qualification cognate experience. Possession of a higher degree will be an added advantage.
- Have occupied the position of a Chief Accountant for a period of not less than five (5) years in an Institution of Higher Learning preferably in a Polytechnic.
- Not be more than 60 years of age at the time of applying for the position.
- Enjoy excellent physical and mental health with evidence from a Government Hospital.
Qualities:
- The Bursar must be a person of proven integrity.
- He must be intellectually and professionally sound and knowledgeable in the rules and regulations of the Polytechnic system. Also, he must be versed in the Public Service Rules and Financial Regulations and must be Information Technology (ICT) compliant.
- He must be able to assist the Chief Executive and the Polytechnic Governing Council in formulating sound financial policies.

- The appointment will be for a term of five (5) years in the first instance and may be renewed, subject to satisfactory performance, for another term of five (5) years and no more.
Conditions of Service
- The Conditions of Service for the post are the same as obtained in all Federal Polytechnics in the Country.
- Also, the Appointee shall enjoy other benefits of office as may be approved from time to time by the Federal Government and as attached to the office of a Principal Officer in the Polytechnic.
