Job Title: Membership Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Description
The successful Candidate will:

  • Provide effective leadership for the department, thus creating awareness and acceptance of the Organisation as a brand, nationally and internationally;
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for growing the membership of the Organisation, particularly corporate membership using the framework of the Organisation’s ADR Club;
  • Design, develop and implement membership administrative processes and strategies that will enable members achieve their individual objectives for joining the organization;
  • Effectively manage the media and Public Relations strategy that will facilitate the acceptance of the Organisation’s brand by stakeholders, in the justice administration community, locally, and internationally;
  • Undertake researche into the requirements of the members with the view to discovering areas of value for members and the Organisation;
  • Design, develop and implement media strategies and policies that will enable the effective promotion of the Organisation and the ADR club concepts;
  • Create a database of Members, media organizations and PR interest groups and sensitize them on the value of the ADR concept and services of the Organisation;
  • Work with schools, youth organizations and such other communities as deemed valuable, sensitize and collaborate to create peace and conflict resolution awareness.

Requirements

  • A minimum of B.Sc. in Social Sciences or any related discipline;
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience with exposure as a Membership Officer with a reputable NGO;
  • Proven excellent track record of achievement in this role or similar role with an NGO;
  • Good communication skills – spoken and written;
  • Experience in managing a broad range of activities and dealing with various individuals locally and internationally;
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Title: Advocacy Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Description
The successful Candidate will:

  • Design and deliver the organisation’s core advocacy strategies to decision-makers and opinion formers;
  • Monitor current debates, discussions and developments locally and internationally on peace building, access to justice, foreign and security policies, ADR and identify opportunities to shape these policies;
  • Develop strong relationships with key parliamentarians, government officials and civil society organizations;
  • Formulate strategic advocacy plans and messages, draft policy briefings, letters, submissions and other advocacy products;
  • Work with other departments, to ensure that relevant experiences and insights arising out of the Organization’s programs feed into the advocacy work;
  • Develop and maintain a robust record and database of ADR activities, Peacebuilding and access to justice initiatives, political analysis and keep others in the organization informed of political trends and opportunities;
  • Build and maintain contracts with relevant NGO networks working on peacebuilding, ADR, access to justice and conflict prevention to ensure the inclusion of the Organisation’s key messages into policy documents, meetings and events as appropriate;
  • Organize advocacy events such as the ADR conference, Peace award, and liaise with other individuals, corporate organizations, government institutions and NGOs where appropriate in the design and preparation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of First Degree in Law, Business Administration, Public Relations, English, Mass Communications, Social Sciences or other related discipline;
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience with proven track record and exposure as an Advocacy Officer with a reputable NGO;
  • Good communication skills – spoken and written;
  • Experience in managing a broad range of activities and dealing with individuals at various levels locally and internationally;
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
