Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Lagos

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree preferably in a business field. Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA) would be an added advantage.
  • At least 10 years’ experience. Variety of experiences in the manufacturing and FMCG industry.
  • Possession of good appreciation and understanding of strategic and business planning frameworks, principles and techniques e.g. investment analysis/justification
  • High level of analytical and performance management skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Very good project and change management skills
  • The ability to demonstrate support for innovation and for organizational changes needed to improve the organization’s effectiveness.


Responsibilities

Drive the company’s adoption and market penetration in the relevant sectors while building strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the Start-up ecosystem, including accelerators and incubators.

  • Business Development Opportunities: Proactively identify, follow up and shortlist new business development opportunities. Determine and convert viable ones into projects.
  • Projects: Research, preparation of justifications documents (executive summaries, detailed backup write-up, financial models) necessary to confirm viability or projects/business initiatives and key considerations for their implementation. These will be in a variety of areas. Examples include:
    • Champion new business line development
    • New Strategic Assets Development
    • Be involved in the Marketing Strategy
    • Develop a network of partners and prospects.
    • Expansion of existing Business lines.
    • Energy Strategic Actions e.g. partnerships with energy players, new power plants, new combustibles. Etc
    • To analyse the risks and the opportunities for the Company
    • Coordinate and take part in commercial and technical, internal and external meetings.
    • Identify/target and select projects (analysis of economic, contractual and contextual risks, pre-qualification, suggestion of an industrial model: partnerships, sub-contracting.)
    • Carry out the Marketing Monitoring of the business during calls for tenders during the phases of: (prospect, pre-qualification, bids for tenders, clarifications, negotiations, contract finalization).
