Job Title: Protection Monitoring/Outreach Team Leader
Location: Monguno
Reporting to: Protection Officer
Supervision of: Outreach team
General Purpose of the Position
- Under the direct supervision of the Protection Officer, the Protection Monitoring/Outreach Team Leader will be primarily responsible for ensuring the overall implementation of activities related to outreach and monitoring and respond to the protection/human rights situation of people affected by the crisis in the assigned field locations, while meeting quality standards
Main Responsibilities & Tasks
- Directly supervision of Outreach team and Protection Monitoring activities;
- Under the supervision of the Protection Officer, Coordinates with the Case Management Team on conducting the protection monitoring assessments;
- Manages all the data and information collected through Protection Monitoring and Outreach related activities and submit regular reports;
- Conduct regular field participatory protection monitoring and assessments, using as much as possible an age, gender and diversity approach, in order to fully understand protection concerns and priorities and in line with PIM (Protection Information Management) guidelines;
- Inform and organize the teams about activities to be conducted;
- Enhance and facilitate discussion on main protection concerns and response capacity within the displaced and the host communities.
- Identify and assess the needs of the most vulnerable individuals, particularly women at risk, and the available response opportunities in accordance with set guidelines, plans and schedules;
- Facilitate and Conduct vulnerability assessment and identify cases for assistance according to pre-defined criteria;
- Combine the protection cases identified by the teams to be referred, under the supervision of Protection Officer;
- Ensure dissemination of clear and reliable information on service provision and other pre-selected key topics;
- Organize and guide the team in conducting Focus Group Discussion, risk mapping and community sessions on relevant protection topics, under the PIM (Protection Information Management) framework;
- Submit weekly and monthly activity plans, reports and recommendations;
- Represent the organization at field coordination meetings and with other stockholders when requested.
Position Requirements
- Diploma or previous experience related to protection monitoring and outreaching ;
- Minimum two year work experience with international/national NGOs and/or local authorities in the Nigerian context;
- Excellent computer literacy especially on Excel;
- Excellent reporting and analytical skills;
- Good knowledge of data collection and analysis and related tools (kobo);
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Leadership, people management and coaching skills;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;

Job Title: Psychologist
Location: Roving (Borno)
Reporting to: GBV/MHPSS Specialist
General Purpose of the Position
- Provide specialized services and individual psychological support for people with moderate to severe mental and/or emotional disorders in the different areas of intervention.
- Provide technical support to protection staff to implement sound psychosocial support (PSS) activities for children and adults.
- The Psychologist is responsible for providing psychotherapy services to beneficiaries in need of MHPSS services to ensure quality of mental health and psycho-social services (MHPSS) in the fields
Main Responsibilities & Tasks
- Assist cases with identified mental or emotional disorders referred internally or externally
- Carry out evaluation of mental health needs of patients/beneficiaries and establishing a diagnosis and a plan of treatment following WHO mHGAP approach and INTERSOS case management protocols. Referring cases to other health professionals whenever necessary, in order to provide the most appropriate treatment and improve the patient’s condition
- Providing psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, family, group) to beneficiaries in need according to INTERSOS, mHGAP and other standards protocols in order to improve their Psycho-social and mental health conditions
- Document progress on cases, maintaining strict protocols for confidentiality and consent, and ensure that data protection protocols are respected
- Assisting and training staff members (protection and health) and resourceful people whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of MHPSS activities. Facilitate trainings for internal staffs and communities on psychosocial first aid (PFA)
- Strengthen community based psychosocial support and peer support group activities
- Work in close collaboration with technical staff (Protection Coordinator, Medical Coordinator, GBV/MHPSS Specialist) for the development of the project’s overall MHPSS component. Reviewing and developing the technical materials, tools, guidelines and documents, and coordinating and ensuring the implementation of all MHPSS standard protocols and procedures set by INTERSOS in order to provide the most appropriate case management.
- Provide coaching and support to the field staff in the implementation of structured MHPSS activities
- Carry out all tasks respecting key protection principles, including but not limited to: do no harm, non-discrimination, confidentiality, accountability and need-to-know principles
- Establish and maintain collaborative relations with relevant partners and other project stakeholders working in the project areas
- Proactively participate in relevant coordination meetings, as requested by the supervisor
Position Requirements
- University degree in Psychology, professional Clinical Psychology LicenseProfessional Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, including at least one year in NGO providing psychotherapy servicesLanguages

Job Title: Roving Finance Assistant
Location: Based in Maiduguri with regular visits to all our field location in Nigeria
Reporting to: Finance Officer
General Purpose of the Position
- INTERSOS is looking for a Roving Finance Assistant that will be responsible for managing the field cash payments and financial issues. Represents the finance department in the fields and will take the responsibility of reporting all the financial aspects of the fields to the finance management.
- He/she will be responsible for ensuring the fields compliance with INTERSOS internal regulations, financial policies and procedures.
Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Prepare in collaboration with Maiduguri finance officer the monthly visits plan and communicate it with the finance management for approval
- Periodical visits to the fields to manage their financial issues in collaboration with the fields administrative focal points
- Conduct periodical cash counting for the fields safe boxes and generate cash counting reports
- Follow up and close the pending amounts of the fields’ staff
- Check and collect the fields financial documents (invoices, receipts, attendance sheets, etc) and supply them to Maiduguri finance office.
- Support the projects staff in any related financial issues like volunteers’ payments, casual workers, guards, housekeepers….etc, and ensure having the appropriate payment documents.
- Carry out periodical check for the logistics works in the fields and collaborate with the logistics staff for any needed financial support.
- Carry out the cash movements from Maiduguri office to the fields according to the projects’ managers requirements and cash requirements forecast.
- Register the fields expenditures in the sub PN and report his daily PN to Maiduguri Finance officer to check and consolidate
- Monitor the fields staff pending aging and liaise with them to close the pending in accordance to the specified maximum aging in INTERSOS Control Model
- Any ad-hoc task that is requested by the finance management
- Archive the fields financial documents in Maiduguri finance department
- Control and report the fields fixed assets and reconcile the logistics inventory records with the actual existed assets in the fields
- Assist the finance team in the monthly/yearly closing
- Assist the finance team in the projects financial closing.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of B.Sc/HND in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration from a recognized higher institution
- Minimum 2 years finance/Accounting experience in multinational working environment
- Minimum 1 year experience with recognized INGO
- Good Reporting and analysis skills
- Manage and organize information systems, establish and maintain filing systems
- Strong interpersonal and team building skills and excellence as a team player
- Excellent command of English and local language oral and written.
- Background/familiarity with Emergency.
- Must possess the ability to learn with speed and ease.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint presentation etc.) are an added advantage.
- Knowledge the use of Google Drive
- Strong sense of responsibility, methodical and accurate with high organizational skills.
- Honesty and integrity and able to cope with stressful situations.
- Willing to work extra hours and available at the weekend for emergency cases.
- English, Hausa (Kanuri and/or Shuwa desirable)
