Job Title: IP NOC Supervisor

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

  • Good research & writing skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Electronic Engineering / Telecommunications Engineering or any related fields.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and MS Project
  • Minimum of CCNP IP certification is required, CCIE will be an added advantage.
  • Relationship Management
  • Leadership &self- management skills
  • Experience running a submarine cable landing station is preferred and a plus.
  • Experience in submarine, multiplexing transmission system with specific experience providing operational support on a transmission network.
  • Technical proficiency in operating large IP/MPLS network with sound skills in troubleshooting, L2_VPN, L3_VPN, IS-IS neighbors, BGP peering and QoS in IOS XE & XR and ISR environments.
  • Technical & Professional proficiency in operation and maintenance field, preferably for a large ISP, ASP, web hosting facility, data centre or telecommunications company.
  • Experience in management of large IP Network, submarine platform, Transport Network platforms like Microwave, DWDM, GPON and multiplexing transmission system.

Demands of the Job

  • You may be required to run shift operation at some point.
  • Ability to travel within and out of the country at short notice.
  • Ability and willingness to work round the clock and meet tight deadlines when required.

 

Responsibilities

  • The NOC Technical Supervisor will be responsible for the first/second line network Support on the elements and components of the Main One network.

Other job responsibilities include:

  • To support the MainOne network on 24-hour per day and 7 days a week basis.
  • Ensure that routine preventive maintenance procedures are carried out on all transmission, interconnect, and associated ancillary equipment contained within the network and deploy procedures for promptly implementing corrective maintenance.
  • Ensure that any equipment faults are rectified in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure the network restoration exercises, or network traffic restoration activity requested by the NOC are done as approved.
  • Ensure detailed attention to the problem, escalation or corrective action.
  • Develop technical solutions to faults and troubles; and implement solutions as appropriate, ensuring that service is restored to an optimum schedule.
  • Ensure the organisation and motivation of the NOC Support Engineers.
  • Ensure the provision of feedback to GNOC Manager on the status of network events.
  • Ensure network performance reports are generated and delivered on time.
  • Ensure the provision of training for NOC Support Engineers, where applicable.

Job Title: Front Office Coordinator

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

  • The Front Office Coordinator will be responsible for all front office duties like manning the switchboard, receiving, endorsing letters and applications.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate front desk officers in all MainOne locations
  • Facility Management- work with the facility officer to ensure office facilities/amenities are properly maintained, escalate facility related issues and follow up with relevant parties for prompt resolutions
  • Train and supervise support office staff; security guards and service assistants
  • Welcome clients and visitors, and ensure they are comfortable
  • Channel client’s queries to the right department/person.
  • Provide administrative/secretarial support at office location
  • Manage the distribution of office supplies and consumables
  • Manage the booking and use of Board and Meeting rooms
  • Receive and document all incoming and outgoing mail. Ensure proper mail distribution
  • Assist with other tasks assigned as necessary to support the department
  • Prepare and monitor office expenses and costs
  • Ensure company’s policies are strictly adhered to on all assigned tasks
  • Support HSE Coordinator on occupational/workplace health & Safety

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience with experience in content creation and graphics
  • Good Interpersonal skills and Customer Service Orientation.
  • Effective Communication and good command of written/spoken English.
  • Basic Secretarial & Computer Skills and proficiency with MS Office Applications.
  • Diplomacy and the ability to negotiate
  • Firm leadership skills
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time
  • Must possess analytical skills
  • The ability to perform under pressure
