We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Short-term Programme Manager, USAID IHP Family Planning Project – Kebbi

Location: Kebbi
Employment Type: Contract.

Qualifications

  • MD degree with postgraduate degree in Public Health or related Field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Managing RH/FP programs and other related program activities.
  • Prior management and work experience with NGOs and/or international organizations will be much desired.
  • Experience in managing US Government Grants and familiarity with the grant management requirements of USAID will be very much appreciated.
  • Strong writing and communication skills in English is a requirement and knowledge of other local languages especially Hausa will be an added advantage.
  • Mastery of computer skills in word processing and Excel for documents production and data processing and analysis is essential.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and strong interpersonal skills and skills to promote teamwork and effort among staff and partner organizations is desired.
  • Strong interest and commitment to family planning and reproductive health services and the eradication of harmful traditional practices is highly important.
  • Integrity and pleasant personality is desired. Willingness to travel frequently to project activity regions as per need is vital.

Specific Job / Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Project Technical Director to achieve all the agreed-upon Project Milestones.
  • Conduct mapping and facility audit of clinic to select Trainers and facility Providers recruited.
  • Participate in the Master Training, TOT and Providers training in LDHF
  • Update health workers’ knowledge and standardize clinical skills to provide (LARC, DMPA-SC & PPFP).
  • Plan, Coordinate and supervise Training of Facility Providers-Capacity building using facility-based LDHF approach running concurrently in different facilities using IHP trained trainers in 122 Facilities
  • Work proactively and responsibly to ensure recruited service providers undergo theoretical and practical training in line with LDHF Modules
  • Develop, Prepare and Request for activity budget, notify providers of training, oversee training, and prepare both physical and financial report following completion of trainings.
  • Ensure Project programme is implemented according to approved donor agreements and approved budget
  • Prepare monthly plan of operation based on the IHP implementation plan
  • Conduct monthly or bi-monthly integrated supportive supervision, coaching, mentoring and competency assessment of service providers
  • Support providers in documentation, record keeping and ensure timely data collection.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly performance reports on training and other project quality assessment activities in Kebbi state.
  • Lead review meetings aimed at performance improvement based on supportive supervision, mentorship and quality assessments findings
