The U.S. Mission to Nigeria comprises of the Embassy in Abuja, FCT, and the Consulate General in Lagos. U.S. Consulate General Lagos is the Mission’s representative to the Nigerian people in the southern region.

Duties
- Working under the Supervisory Administrative Assistant of the Oversea Building Operations (OBO) project team, the incumbent obtains customs clearance for incoming and outgoing official shipments in support of the New Consulate Compound (NCC) in Lagos.
- S/he also works with the Ministry of Transportation to facilitate vehicle registration and inspection.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Education Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary School or received high school diploma
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in customs, shipping, or logistics is required.
Job Knowledge:
- Must have strong knowledge of local cargo, shipping, and customs procedures and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of local laws and regulations governing all types of vehicle use, registration, insurance, import/export etc.is required.
Evaluations:
- This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.
Language:
- Good working knowledge Reading/ Writing/Speaking English is required.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and Internet Research is required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have a valid Nigeria driver’s license.
- Good interpersonal skills to interface efficiently with various contacts including end users, vendors, trucking companies, local officials as well as post contacts is required.
- Good knowledge of accepted record-keeping methods, to include developing a filing system, follow-up on projects, meeting deadlines is required.

- The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
Salary
NGN4,834,097 , USD34,021 annually.
