Job Title: Associate Director – M & E

Project Summary
- The Reading and Numeracy Activity (RANA) is DFID-funded through UNICEF on early primary grades reading pilot project implemented in partnership with FRI 360 in collaboration with the Niger, Kebbi & Katsina state governments. RANA aims to improve literacy and numeracy for girls and boys in primary grades 1-3 in the supported states. It will assist approximately 100 formal Schools and integrated Qur’anic Schools (lQS) in each of the states.
Responsibilities
- Associate Director – M & E provides leadership support to the Director M&E in all monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities for AHNI.
- S/he supports the Director M&E in overall management and provision of technical inputs to improve and facilitate the delivery of Sound technical assistance in M&E, including to the Government of Nigeria (GON) and United States Government (USG) upon request.
- S/he collaborates closely with other major stakeholders in the Implementation and improvement of the national M&E effort in Nigeria.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
- MB.BS/MD/PhD or similar degree with 5 to 7 years relevant experience with at least 5 years progressive experience working in Monitoring and Evaluation in large HIV/AIDS programs at national or international level.
- MS/MA in Demography, Economics and an MPH or similar degree with 7 to 9 years relevant experience in project- level or state/national-level Monitoring and Evaluation in large HIV/AIDS programs at national or international level.
- Sound practical knowledge of statistics and the use of statistical software.
- Proven experience in project development, planning and facilitating technical training.
- Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs is required.
- Familiarity with USAID and PEPFAR programs is required.
Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities
- Administrative Assistant will support the Admin Officer and departmental staff in the provision of administrative and logistical services to AHNi staff.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
- University degree, recognized equivalent or HND.
- Familiarity with administrative and secretarial skills is an advantage.
- Familiarity with international NGOs is an advantage.
- Experience with large complex organization preferred.
Job Title: Project Driver

Project Summary

RANA aims to improve literacy and numeracy for girls and boys in primary grades 1-3 in the supported states. Responsibility
- Under the supervision of the Finance and Administrative Officer and supported by state FA&A, the driver shall provide a variety of transportation support to the RANA Project.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
- Secondary School Leaving Certificates, apprentice certificate or any other equivalent certificates with a minimum of 1-year experience,
- Must have a trade test certificate and a valid driving license. Must have expert knowledge of driving rules and regulations,
- Experience as a driver mechanic will be an added advantage. Experience with large complex organization preferred.

Job Title: Finance Officer

Project Summary
- The Reading and Numeracy Activity (RANA) is DFID-funded through UNICEF on early primary grades reading pilot project implemented in partnership with FRI 360 in collaboration with the Niger, Kebbi & Katsina state governments. RANA aims to improve literacy and numeracy for girls and boys in primary grades 1-3 in the supported states. It will assist approximately 100 formal Schools and integrated Qur’anic Schools (lQS) in each of the states.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Field Coordinator, the Finance and Administrative Officer shall assume responsibility for all state level administrative and accounting responsibilities.
- And, will ensure compliance with the contractual financial and administrative requirements of the organization.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
- BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 3 – 5 years relevant experience.
- Or MS/MA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 1 – 3 years relevant experience.
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in accounting related to international development programs.
- Familiarity with donor-funded programs and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria is an advantage. CPA, ACA, ICAN or recognized equivalent is an advantage. Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage.

- Outreach Officer will support to adopt and integrate gender sensitive community reading promotion strategies for improved learning outcomes at state and community levels, in collaboration with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
- Under the supervision of Field Coordinator, h/she will assist in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of all community led activities in the focus states.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Education, Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology or related discipline with 5 years working experience in community mobilization and gender integration at the national or international level.
- Expertise in community mobilization and gender analysis, strategic planning, and integrating gender balance into project design and management is desirable.

- Graphic Designer will be primarily responsible for providing technical expertise and inputs related to developing and implementing an approach to continuing Hausa language reading instruction in the upper primary grades 4-6 and the basic non-formal education.
- H/She will work under the supervision of Literacy Coordinator and in collaboration with literacy team to produce a Hausa language Literacy Package and teacher training package for upper primary grades and basic non-formal content of Nigeria’s education curriculum.
- He/she will also assist in content development and design for key promotional messages, communication materials and publications.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Creative Art or other relevant studies
- Relevant certification in graphic design
- At least 5 years of professional work experience in graphic design and communication activities, preferably in development programs.

- Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will provide technical leadership for the state-level M&E activities and maintain regular communication with state-level partners to offer data-requirement support.
- The officer support the Field Coordinator in tracking implementation progress and result.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in the Numerical Sciences or Development Science with at least 3-year work experience in monitoring and evaluation of education programs.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Working knowledge of data processing computer packages.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and working knowledge of the Hausa Language.
- Well-organized, with ability to track multiple project activities and deadlines

It will assist approximately 100 formal Schools and integrated Qur’anic Schools (lQS) in each of the states.
Responsibilities
- Field Coordinator is responsible for the state educational program planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the reading interventions implemented by AHNI and its partners in the assigned States.
- H/She is also responsible for overseeing strategic and day-to-day implementation of activities in the State.
- The FC will provide supervision and guidance to the state team and support services personnel.
- H/She will work closely with the Technical Advisor to ensure implementation is closely aligned with the overall project objectives.
- H/She is accountable for judicious use of all resources entrusted with AHNi and its partners in the assigned State.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
- Advance degree in Education or its recognized equivalent with 6 – 9 years of relevant experience with international development programs. Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required. At least 5-8 years’ experience in education reform with a focus on primary education sector work in teacher education.
- Demonstrated ability to work with government, partners and/or local government structures and schools’ settings. Proven expertise in mother tongue (L1), early grade reading Instruction and/or assessment and reading material development, preferably in Hausa Language.
- Significant experience in teacher training and support for development, production and distribution of instructional materials, including but not limited to: effective teacher training modules, assessment and/or supplementary materials.
- Has ability to coordinate teacher training interventions, set realistic priorities, and plan for the successful implementation of activities.
- Proficient writing and verbal communication skills.
