Requirements/Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum Education: A first degree in Agricultural discipline; higher degrees /MBA/professional certifications such as ACIB.
Experience:
- Minimum experience – Minimum of 15 years of Agricultural financing experience in a bank with at least 3 years’ experience in a management role.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop the agricultural financing policy and give direction on lending processes and procedures in liaison with Credit Risk Management and other stakeholders
- Promote awareness of agricultural financing products in the Bank and maintain an effective business advisory support for existing and prospective agribusiness clients across all segments of the Bank’s Agric business.
- Champion the formulation and implementation of strategies, plans, and programs for identifying new agribusiness opportunities to specifically grow the client base within the target market and generate revenues.
- Market and manage relationships with government agencies, development agencies, NGOs and other entities involved in agricultural business.
- Ensure overall competitiveness of Bank’s brand, whilst ensuring optimum utilization of allocated resources to achieve desired profitability and goals.
- Provide credit screening/ credit advisory support to BUs and the Risk Management function
- Ensure adequate provision of needed resources for the Group.
- Identify training needs and recruitment gaps within the Group and ensure such needs are adequately met.
- Develop and maintain good relationship with key Head Office stakeholders to ensure smooth customer service delivery.
- Direct and supervise the activities of Regional Agric Coordinators, Agric Credit Officers and other staff of the Group.
- Ensure that information Assets are classified according to the FirstBank classification scheme
- As part of the Bank’s Information Security requirements, maintain the security of all information entrusted to the staff and comply with the principles and policies in the Information Security Handbook.
- Also, as part of the Bank’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) requirements, implement the Department’s Business Continuity Plan and recover the critical processes and activities of the Department.
