Job Description
- We are looking for an innovative and experienced Software QC Engineer to join our team. The QC Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting the planning, design and execution of test plans, test scripts and process plans for projects.
- The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to perform and validate test cases based on quality requirements and recommend changes to predetermined quality guidelines.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that the end product meets the minimum quality standards, is fully functional and user-friendly.
- The QC Engineer should demonstrate strong attention to detail and have analytical and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate must be able to interpret and implement quality assurance standards and provide accurate and comprehensive feedback to colleagues.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure that all objectives are met
- Investigate customer complaints and product issues
- Devise a test strategy to adequately cover product requirements
- Develop high-level test scenarios that implement the strategy, elaborate scenarios into detailed test cases
- Monitor test progress and reporting status
- Log defects, track and test defect fixes and re-deliver product
- Communicate with system users regarding upcoming release updates, production issues and systems release support
- Implement and monitor test scripts to assess functionality, reliability, performance, and quality of the service or product
- Identify and remedy defects within the production process
- Recommend, implement, and monitor preventative and corrective actions to ensure that quality assurance standards are achieved
- Ensure that user expectations are met during the testing process
- Draft quality control and assurance policies and procedures and collaborate with the Quality Assurance team, when appropriate.
- Develop and update QC/Software Testing documentation in an efficient and timely manner based on departmental standards and procedures
- Conduct software quality assurance audits on software projects
- Create or maintain databases of known test defects
- Work closely with the development and support teams to ensure product functionality is as expected by all stakeholders
- Test automation for APIs and web-based applications
- Risk Management – Identify potential risks and develop preventive plans for procedural activities
- Oversee functional testing (manual and automated) on UAT and STAGING environments for APIs, web and mobile-based applications using proficient testing tools
Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
- Essential: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
- Desirable: Certifications in Software Testing, Product Life Cycle, etc.
Experience:
- At least 3 years post-graduate experience working in a similar field/role
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in quality inspection, auditing and testing.
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of QC databases and applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail.
