Job Title: Fine and Applied Arts Teacher
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Description
- Planning lessons on art and art history in accordance with students’ learning objectives and curriculum.
- Preparing the classroom by gathering and setting up equipment.
- Developing students’ drawing, colouring, and painting techniques.
- Providing instruction on the use of media such as graphite and charcoal pencils, as well as oil, acrylic, and water colour paint.
- Teaching students about art history.
- Assigning and grading projects and examinations.
- Recording and reporting on students’ progress.
- Ensuring that the classroom is clean after each lesson.
- Monitoring inventory and sourcing art supplies, as needed
- Attending faculty and parent-teacher meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with teaching qualification, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an art teacher.
- Demonstrated excellence in a variety of art techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capacity to supervise group work.
- Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills.
- Supportive,flexible disposition.
Skills and Abilities:
- Preparing lessons, and providing developmentally
- appropriate instruction on art techniques

Job Title: Guidance Counselor
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Description
- To provide high-quality counseling services to students experiencing a wide range of emotional problems.
- To provide support, guidance and advice to students on their careers and parents on their children.
- To observe confidentiality and to support the school’s endeavor to provide excellent teaching and learning for all students.
- Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of both primary and secondary students.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the confidential counseling services to students as needed.
- To be responsible for advice and support to staff.
- To be responsible for maintaining appropriate and confidential records.
- To provide regular audit information such as numbers, age range and types of problems to the school management.
- To have a thorough knowledge of the Mental Health provisions locally and nationally.
- Working with students to develop skills, such as organizational and time management abilities and effective study habits.
- Reporting possible cases of neglect or abuse and referring students and parents to resources outside the school for additional support,
- Teaching students and school staff about specific topics, such as bullying, drug abuse, and planning for college or careers after graduation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s, Post-graduate Diploma, or Master’s level in Counseling or Psychotherapy.
- Further therapeutic. training or qualification in working with children and young people.
- An understanding of the developmental, emotional, social, and educational issues of children and young people.
- An awareness of range of needs of people from diverse ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Guidance and Counseling
- Minimum of 3 years experience of working with children and young people.
Skills and Abilities:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Positive communication and listening skills.
- Patience, tolerance, and sensitivity
- ICT literate
- A mature and non-judgemental outlook
- Enthusiasm
