A reputable Non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to the prevention, treatment, care
and support of diseases of public health importance in Nigeria seeks to recruit qualified person to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Security Officer (CSO)

Location: Abuja

Overview

• The successful candidate will support the implementation of its various programs in Nigeria.
• The organization works in partnership with the Federal and State Governments of Nigeria, United States Government, The Global Fund, British government as well as other International multilateral and bilateral donors to fight AIDS, Malnutrition, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Nigeria.

Job Tasks

• The successful person will be responsible for the planning, managing and leading the organization-wide safety and security initiatives, including staff safety, injury prevention and environmental security assessments.
• The candidate will liaise with relevant security networks in the country for security intelligence and advise staff and management of safety measures.
• S/He will manage all aspects of security operations and provide the leadership required to insure that the proper policies and procedures are in place to provide a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors and assets in a cost effective manner.
• S/He will develop and administer security architecture, policies and strategies and train security staff on security surveillance across the state offices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must possess a University Degree in Sociology, Criminology, Law or related discipline.
• High level of integrity.
• Must possess good relationship management/advocacy skills.
• Must possess good report writing, presentation, data interpretation skills.
• Must be conversant with various sub nationals (states) of Nigeria.
• Possession of a Master’s degree will be added advantage.
• Must be a serving or retired member of the Armed Forces Intelligence, Police or State Security Services.
• Must have knowledge and experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)
• Must be familiar with the Nigerian Security environment and aspects of security governance.
