The Nest Lounge, a business lounge located in Yaba, Lagos State, is recruiting qualified candidates to fill the position below:
Job Title: Sou Chef
Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks
- Cooking and preparing high quality dishes
- Assisting the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes
- Being responsible for health and safety
- Being responsible for food hygiene practices
- Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
- Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
- Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
- Ensure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications
- Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met
- Ensure kitchen personnel is trained in best cleanliness and sanitation practices
Requirements
- SSCE or equivalent required, formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred
- 2 – 5 years of cooking experience preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and guests.
- Food Handling Certification preferred
- Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and work long hours in hot conditions
