Job Profile
- Integrated Child Health and Social Service Award (ICHSSA 3) project currently being implemented in Northern Nigeria to improve the quality of life of HIV/AIDs positive children by leveraging on OVC/Social Service to strengthen the HIV continuum of care in a family-community–facility service delivery interface.
- The State Team Lead will be the Primary Liaison with government, Stakeholders, Implementing partners and other programs within the state.
The successful candidate will perform the following functions:
- The State Team Lead will liaise with government stakeholders, implementing partners and other programs within the state.
- The State Lead will be expected to identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate program adjustments.
- S/he will supervise activity implementation and ensure activities meet stated goals and reporting requirements.
- The State Lead will have demonstrated ability to work in complex environments, manage diverse teams, and deliver results within agreed timelines.
Qualifications / Experience
- A Degree in Medical Field or Social Sciences
- Candidate must possess at least at least 6 years’ cognate experience, which must include at least 3years in Programming for OVC, and Sub granting to CBOs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of policy and programs serving vulnerable adolescent and young women at high risk of HIV infection.
- Hands-on experience with PEPFAR project management processes and application of PEPFAR technical and administrative guidelines.
- Familiarity with Nigeria’s institutional, policy and programming context for HIV clinical and community services, including knowledge of the social welfare and health sectors in Nigeria.
- Demonstrated ability to engage government and represent OVC priorities and issues as they relate to children and adolescent living with or at high risk of HIV.
- Fluency in Hausa strongly preferred/ as well as any other language widely spoken in the state of operation.
- In addition to the above, a candidate who has worked on USAID grants within the Northern States and resides within the implementing states will be highly preferred.
