Agri Seed Capital is a Micro Finance Institution (MFI) that exists to address the problem of financial inclusion affecting subsistence and small-scale farmers.
Many farmers find it difficult to access production credit, technical advisory, and business support services such as accounting, records management, and business planning.
Motivated to close this gap, the organisation has created an incubation programme that aims to provide business support to small-scale producers to the point where they can graduate and access mainstream finance from commercial banks and development finance institutions.
The Agri Seed Capital three-year incubation programme aims to establish a pipeline of future finance-ready farmers. Our support services include:
Access to markets
Linking producers with markets.
Bookkeeping services
Accurate record-keeping of farm income and expenses to improve prospects of future financing.
Business plans
Setting clear strategies, objectives, and long-term farm planning.
Production credit facilities
This facility of up to R250 000 can be used for production inputs, e.g., seeds, fertilizer, herbicide, fuel, machinery hire etc.
Risk mitigating strategies
We assist in developing risk management plans to reduce the risk to an acceptable level.
