1.) Accounting Officer

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

 

  • Ensure documentation of all financial transactions using electronic accounting system and ensure that all accounting entries have valid supporting documents.
  • Generate and/or prepare financial reports, statements etc. as required.
  • Compile, analyse and report financial data.
  • Review and reconcile bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers.
  • Issue purchase orders and invoices and process payments promptly.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors as directed.
  • Assist with filling and remittance of statutory deductions.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Ensure all account-related matters are swiftly attended to.
  • Verify accounting documents and records for accuracy and recommend and/or implement correction as necessary.
  • Assist with investment/project appraisals and financial forecasting as required.
  • Assist with verification of fixed assets and regularly update the fixed asset registers.
  • Manage assigned accounts of business unit(s) or projects including to track budget and report variance.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
  • Ensure that all accounting transactions comply with the law as well as company’s policies, standards and guidelines
  • Keep abreast of developments relating to accounting and finance practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance capacities.
  • Professional certification in accounting (ICAN or ACCA) is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting procedures and regulations including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Hands on experience with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge/experience in project accounting and background in constructions environment are added advantages.
  • In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude at all times including to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to keep an open and objective view and maintain confidentiality.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and high level of personal and professional integrity.

2.) Civil Engineer

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Participate in construction / engineering operations and supervision activities with strict adherence to plans.
  • Undertake tasks related to specific areas of technical expertise or responsibility with high level of professionalism.
  • Review designs, technical specifications, relevant calculations, costs and quantities to assist decision making.
  • Carry out and/or supervise field tests, laboratory tests and other tests to achieve QA/QC objectives.
  • Assist in the analysis, evaluation and interpretation of data gathered from investigations for sound engineering inferences and conclusions.
  • Supervise the works carried out by contractors, identify inconsistencies and suggest reasonable corrective measures where necessary.
  • Provide timely report of work and progress including ensuring all requisite documentations are maintained.
  • Work as part of (and coordinate own work) with a multidisciplinary team to achieve common objectives.
  • Ensure the use of appropriate methodologies, systems and techniques in the performance of the job with strict compliance to regulation and standards.
  • Ensure quality, adequacy and appropriateness of materials and equipment used for all works to ensure acceptable standard of delivery.
  • Produce and/or review drawings, including working drawings, shop drawings and drawings for temporary works, and recommend appropriate modifications as necessary.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision making always regarding company’s resources and adhere to code of conduct, policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the field area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Engineering or closely related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, civil and infrastructure works and designs. (Experience working on mid to large scale highway/railway projects is an added advantage).
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant constructions/engineering laws, codes, regulations and documentation requirements
  • Ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles.
  • Possession of relevant engineering license (COREN). Candidates without this may be considered for support roles.
  • Proficiency in use of relevant engineering software, tools and equipment to deliver high quality error-free work.
  • Certification in project management is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in use of BIM 360 Autodesk, Primavera or related project management applications.
  • Effective self-leadership and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work with tight or varying schedules and deliver within timelines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability to apply technical knowledge.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, follow established procedure and work independently or with little supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different levels as well as to effectively and professionally express ideas to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate in response to project needs.

3.) Senior Project Engineer

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

  • We require the services of qualified Senior Project Engineers for the supervision of a railway construction project.
  • Successful candidates will work with the Project Manager in ensuring that the contractor delivers the project on time, quality and within budget to the client’s satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers at the site, including coordinating their work to achieve the project’s objective.
  • Motivate and train team members as necessary and evaluate their performance against established KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s code of conduct and policies and ensure maintenance of a high level of discipline among team members.
  • Proactively identify risks and issues as well as effectively manage change at the site.
  • Implement work plans and manage work schedules while ensuring that timelines are met.
  • Plan and ensure that project and worksite deliverables are successfully achieved.
  • Act as the responsible resident project engineer on assigned site(s) or sections under the supervision of a project manager.
  • Liaise with the contractor, client and other stakeholders as necessary and provide feedback to the Project Manager.
  • Attend meetings, and document and communicate resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Review all works carried out by contractors to identify inconsistencies and suggest reasonable corrective measures where necessary.
  • Ensure the use of appropriate methods, systems and techniques in the performance of the job with strict compliance with regulations and standards.
  • In line with contract specifications, ensure quality, adequacy and appropriateness of materials and equipment used for all works to ensure an acceptable standard of delivery.

  • Ensure strict implementation of approved drawings/designs and recommend appropriate modifications as necessary, and ensure that all works carried out by the contractor bear the requisite company’s approval.

  • Ensure that inferences and conclusions from analyses of test results are applied accordingly in delivering the job.
  • Provide timely standard reports of work including ensuring all requisite documentation is maintained.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 15 years of demonstrable experience in construction supervision.
  • Vast experience in highway/railway projects is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in the use of relevant engineering software, tools, and equipment to deliver high-quality error-free work.
  • Rich experience working on a variety of structures including roads, dams, bridges, culverts, drainages, etc.
  • Possession of engineering license (COREN).
  • Experience working in engineering consultancy is an added advantage.
  • Focus on safety.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant constructions/engineering laws, codes, regulations, and, documentation requirements.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings/designs and technical reports and recommend reasonable modifications.
  • Ability to make technical calculations involving the application of engineering principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different levels as well as to effectively and professionally express ideas to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
