- TAF Africa will engage the service of a consultant to conduct research on the impact of fuel subsidy removal on Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria.
- This will avail the project the opportunity to gather empirical data directly from the community of persons with disabilities (those with albinism, physical disability, hearing impairment, visually impaired, intellectual disability, etc.) on how the removal of fuel subsidy is impacting their lives and day-to-day activities, how they are coping and adapting to subsidy removal, ascertain their awareness on government interventions targeted at PWDs, receipt of any form of assistance or relief from the government, specific expectations from the government, among other indicators.
- The major deliverables for this activity will include concept note on study methodology including data gathering tools, a final research report, and a press statement.
- The study will adopt a qualitative method of research through In-depth Interview (IDI), and a purposive sampling technique. An in-depth interview will be conducted face-to-face and/or through telephone for respondents.
- The respondents will include persons with disabilities cut across different types of disability, disability cluster heads, executives of organizations of persons with disabilities, and government officials responsible for developing and implementing interventions targeted at PWDs.
- The data will be analysed and a report of the study with key findings and recommendations will be published and used for advocacy purposes during our engagement with policy makers, ministries, departments and agencies of government, public influencers, and other stakeholders.
Salary
N400,000 / month.
