About the Job
- Are you a recent graduate with a strong background in electronics and a passion for problem-solving?
- Fieldbase is seeking an Entry-Level Connectivity Systems and Maritime Electronics Engineer to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria.
Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of maritime electronic equipment such as satellite communication systems, ECDIS, radars, gyros, distress communication equipment, and navigational aids.
- Completing projects from start to finish and ensuring that all work is done to a high standard.
- Writing clear and concise reports for clients and team members.
- Providing subject matter expert guidance to internal teams and clients.
- Conducting regular inspections and testing of electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborating with other members of the engineering team to develop solutions to complex problems.
Requirements
- Very strong electronics skills and an understanding of electronic systems (design-level skillset).
- Experience using RF and electronic measuring instruments e.g. spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to write clear and concise reports.
- A willingness to learn and be trained in the installation, maintenance, and repair of maritime electronic equipment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work on-site and offshore, as required.
- Knowledge of programming languages is an added advantage.
- Ability to read, understand and apply international regulation on maritime electronic systems.
- IT skills are desirable.
- A completion mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to see projects through to the end.
