We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Objective / Purpose of Job

  • Responsible for playing a critical role in the strategic leadership and operational oversight of the company.
  • Drives operational excellence, optimizing business processes, and providing team leader to achieve the Business revenue targets and goals.

Job Duties / Functional Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all departments.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance productivity and profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage supply chain and logistics to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Estanblish a standardised approach for reporting and performance management across all departments

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement the company’s strategic plan.
  • Contribute to long-term business planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and drive innovation within the company.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for operations.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure cost-effective operations and maximize profitability through efficient resource allocation and cost control measures.
  • Drive the monthly performance reviews in the absence of the GMD

Team leadership and Development:

  • Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the operations teams.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Promote a positive work environment that aligns with the company’s values and mission.

Strategic Partnerships and Negotiations:

  • Negotiate and manage relationships with OEMs, suppliers, vendors, financial institutions, and other external partners.
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
  • Provide strategic data-based insights and recommendations to support business development activities.

Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure that the company operates within the legal and regulatory framework, maintaining high standards of corporate governance.
  • Ensure all operating activities are conducted in adherence to company policies and processes

Other Duties

  • Ensure that the board is kept abreast of all major activities or decisions that impact the company as a whole.
  • Other responsibilities may be laid down by the GMD or as determined by the board.

Key Performance Indicators / Performance Goals:

  • Sales Revenue: Achieve 50% growth in revenue compared to the previous year.
  • New Business Development: Secure at least 10 new key accounts within the fiscal year.
  • Market Share: Increase market share by 5% in key markets.
  • New Markets: Successfully enter and establish a presence in new markets or regions.
  • Partnerships: Establish new strategic partnerships that contribute to revenue growth.
  • Customer Retention Rate: Achieve a customer retention rate of 50% or higher.
  • Cost Reduction: Achieve a targeted reduction in operational costs by at least 10% within the fiscal year.
  • Process Improvement: Implement and document at least 3 process improvements per quarter.
  • Resource Utilization: Increase resource utilization rates by 20%.
  • Output Per Employee: Increase productivity per employee through process improvements and better resource allocation.

Job Specifications
Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Sales, or a related field;

Professional Qualification:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Proven experience of 15+ years in commercial sales and operations management within the trading industry or a related field.

  • Experience in managing large-scale projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
