We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Fiduciary Consultant

Location: Hybrid (With expected travels to Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ebonyi, Osun, Delta & Ekiti State)

Job Nature: Full Time
Duration: Maximum of 10 days per Month
Contractor Type: Consultancy
Period of Service: 1 year (Renewable)

Description

  • The Fiduciary Consultant will review the financial management, internal control framework and procedures for ECEWS and its global operations including revenue sharing, payment mechanisms, and risk allocation while ensuring value for money.

Objectives

  • To Improve risk management and mitigation strategies
  • To Enhance financial management and Internal Controls
  • To develop and implement fraud prevention and detection strategies
  • To ensure compliance with relevant, regulations and industry best practices
  • To ensure effective management of subrecipients and faith-based organizations (IAs).

Specific Deliverables

  • Support ECEWS to assess the financial management and internal control framework and procedures in place.
  • Document recommendations to address the identified weaknesses and improve oversight and accountability for funds generated and expended.
  • Make inputs into the evaluation of ECEWS policies related to financial management and reporting to ensure a sufficient understanding of the design of relevant control policies and procedures
  • Work with ECEWS to develop a framework to enhance risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls over the human resources management and asset management systems.
  • Support ECEWS to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry best practices (USAID rules, Local Laws and Organizational policies).
  • Work closely with the ECEWS internal audit team to develop and implement fraud prevention and detection measures.

  • Improved financial management and internal control framework and procedures.
  • Reviewed policies and procedures with adequate controls and safeguards in place
  • Development of a risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Improved human resources and asset management systems
  • Development of a fraud prevention and detection measures

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting (B.Sc. or HND) is mandatory
  • MBA is highly desired
  • ICAN, or equivalent an added advantage
  • Minimum of Five – Seven (5-7) years relevant experience in well-structured international NGO.
  • Knowledge of USAID regulations is highly desired.
