Job Title: Lead Engineer, Inspection Methods
Location: Lagos

Activities
- Evaluate existing inspection programs & strategies for each facility and ensure it is adapted to address the age/actual status of the facilities.
- Act as focal point for inspection cost optimization by performing periodic reviews of inspection processes, methodology, planning and propose strategy to optimize Inspection effort / cost.
- Prepare inspection procedures, written schemes of examination for validation.
- Perform RBI/FAME+ assessment and ensure implementation in line with TOTAL & API 581 methodology .
- Prepare Inspection planning (Equipment, scope, schedule, resources, inspection method, etc.) .
- Responsible for the correct implementation of the UNISUP/SAP Inspection Solutions Workflow process.
- Follow up equipment on site to ensure no orphan items and inspection programs are implemented in SAP.
- Track Inspection KPI’s and prepare monthly KPI reports with recommendations to reduce/prevent backlog.
- Ensure proper Implementation of Inspection SECE equipment in SAP with performance standards & measuring points.
- Provide required input for Inspection Budget preparation and its subsequent realization.
- Follow up mid/long term Inspection planning for JV assets which is an important input for Shut down planning.
- Participate to the Technical evaluation and selection of contractors and follow-up the administrative process of contract preparation to ensure the required contracts are in place.
- Prepare Scope of work for the various Inspection Contract required to actualize the Inspection program.
- Assess competence and qualification of contractor personnel in line with the CR, OEM requirements.
- Maintain KPI’s to monitor Inspection contractor performance and organize SQM to ensure optimum service.
- Ensure regulatory approvals for RBI, CLASS etc. are maintained by driving compliance with approval requirements.
- Contribute to analysis of inspection findings and proffer solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Review Construction or modification QA/QC plan for repair and modification works on existing facilities.
- Perform Fitness for Service analysis of equipment
Candidate Profile
- Education: BSc. / B. Eng. in Engineering discipline Mechanical, Materials/ Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 8 years’ experience in Inspection or Asset Integrity management in the oil industry with at least 5yrs experience in Inspection (Site or Methods). Good knowledge of RBI, Corrosion Prevention and Control, NDT Techniques, Metallurgy, Oil and Gas production Facilities, API RP 510, 570, 580, 579, 576, 571 & ASME VIII Rules, Relevant Knowledge of Company GS and CR
- Skills Required: Good communication skills, negotiation, Proficiency in UNISUP/SAP
Context & Environment
- Inspection Methods preparation for JV operations.
- Oil and Gas production facilities located offshore (40KM from PHC) and Onshore (80Km from PHC).
- Interface with other Departments in TEPNG, as well as with Contractors and potential Contractors and Vendors
Additional Information
- Ensure effective Inspection plans are in place in TEPNG operated facilities – OML 58, 99, 100, 102 & FSO Unity
- Internal & External Interface – DPR, NAPIMS, ECP, Maintenance, HSE, Production etc
- Onshore and Conventional offshore fields – 1 Floating Unit, 1 CALM Buoy, 19 offshore Platform structures, 3 onshore Production Stations, Oil and Gas pipelines and flow-lines
- Ageing facilities and brown field developments with Tie-ins
- Emphasis on quality deliverables, Optimization of Inspection cost & JV Cost recovery
HSE:
- Familiarize self with TEPNG emergency procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report any incident, unsafe act or operation.
- Ensure all personnel under his/her supervision are well trained and aware of their HSE responsibilities with continuous monitoring.
