Egbin Power Plc. Lagos is one of the biggest additions to the electricity industry in Nigeria. Often seen as the biggest single generating power station in Sub-Saharan Africa, it was built to meet the every rising demand for electricity in Lagos and its environs.

Following the nation’s privatization exercise, Sahara, through its power division, Sahara Power Group and sundry affiliations, acquired the 1320 MW installed capacity Egbin Power Plant. We are working towards deploying a minimum of 5,000 MW of electricity generation over the next five years.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Summary

  • The Senior Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all BOP preventive maintenance activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision of Maintenance Activities in the Boiler Section.
  • Supervise Daily Routines, Preventive, and Corrective Maintenance.
  • Preventive Maintenance Planning, Scheduling of Corrective Maintenance from Preventive Maintenance.
  • Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Management on the Enterprise Asset Management System (IBM Maximo).
  • Perform Overhauls, Major, and Minor Inspections of Boiler Pressure Parts and Valves
  • Plan and Monitor Overhauls Schedules of Boiler Systems to Achieve Improved Reliability and Prevent Schedule Overrun.
  • Conduct Safety Inspection as scheduled.
  • Conduct follow-ups on all repair work.
  • Responsible for Boiler Spares Planning, Purchase, Stocking and Requisition.
  • Ensure Adherence to QHSE Requirements in all Maintenance Activities.
  • Risk Assessment and Management of the Boiler Systems.

Education and Work Experience

  • Candidates should possess a First Degree (BSc) / HND in Mechanical / Production Engineering
  • Must have Seven to Eight (7 – 8) Years of Work Experience in Industrial/Power Generation Boiler/Turbine Systems.
  • Membership of NATE, NSE, and COREN will be an Added Advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience and working exposure to maintenance of BOP and auxiliaries
  • In-depth understanding of BOP operations.
  • Sound technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Appreciable knowledge of safety requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of power generation processes.
  • Knowledge of modern maintenance management practices and spare inventory management.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
