Abt Associates, a global leader in research and program implementation, is recruiting a agricultural economist as consultants to support an endline impact evaluation of the AgResults Aflasafe Project, a multi-year effort to stimulate the market through aflatoxin control. Work is anticipated to begin in
early 2016.

Job Description

    In consultation with the team leader, agricultural economist, in-country project implementer, and other relevant parties, assist in the development of survey protocols.
    Support survey implementation, including interfacing with the US-based team leader and working with the survey firm to ensure proper translation of questionnaires in local languages, assisting in interviewer training, and monitoring data collection.
    Perform data quality control measures such as interview sit-ins and back checks.

Qualifications

•     Survey management experience using electronic data collection required
•     Masters in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Sociology, or related discipline with minimum 5 years of experience
•     Excellent written and communication skills in English.
•     Experience in conducting surveys addressing rural livelihoods and agriculture is a plus
•     Basic data analysis skills and familiarity with Stata a plus
•     Working familiarity with randomized and/or quasi-experimental impact evaluations highly desirable
•     In-field survey management experience in Northern Nigeria (Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina) a plus.
