The Ondo State University of Medical Sciences was recently established to provide exceptional
quality and comprehensive health care and integrated education and research in all medically-related sciences. Its vision is to attain world class status in health care and to be a West African hub for medical education, research and service delivery within the shortest possible period of time. To this end, the University requires the services of a Director of ICT who will develop and maintain the ICT backbone needed for the University to achieve effective internal governance and global excellence.
Title: Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Duties of the Office
The ICT Director shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the development and implementation of the University’s information technology initiatives.
The Director of ICT will develop and implement ICT policies, lead the ICT planning and implementation process and set the overall strategic direction for the successful take-off of the University as an ICT-driven institution.
The Person
The ICT Director must be a visionary leader and have the ability to provide good and exceptional leadership in today’s ICT world.
He/she must possess personal integrity and demonstrate transparency in private and public life and must be able to command the respect and loyalty of staff and students of the University.
Candidates should have a thorough understanding of the challenge and significance of ICT implementation in a new and modernizing University.
Qualification for the Post
The candidate must be a qualified member of relevant professional body, and must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience.
The applicant should be at least a deputy Director in a tertiary institution.
The candidate for this post shall possess a good honours degree in Computer Science or related discipline from a recognised University.
Possession of a post-graduate degree will be an advantage.
The candidate must also possess a record of good health.
Remuneration
The salary attached to this position is CONUSSS 15. Other benefits to the holder of the office are as stipulated in the University’s Conditions of Office.
