Job description
Facilities Engineering
The programme is open only to graduates who completed their Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering discipline in the last four years.
Brief Overview:
The facilities engineering training program is designed to facilitate practical learning of the fundamental and foundational mechanical and electrical engineering principles applicable in the Oil & Gas Industry. The program shall include but not be limited to knowledge of the static & dynamic facilities practice and application in Oil & Gas process, concepts, detailed engineering design, construction, project management, maintenance and operations of production assets both onshore and offshore. Trainees will also be guided through a formal opportunity maturation process from inception to abandonment of assets. At the end of the program, trainees are expected to be capable of supporting ongoing projects which would involve- opportunity identification, assessing and selection of feasible options, defining selected options by the application of relevant engineering codes and standard as well as managing the execution team. Alongside this training, trainees will understand cost estimation and delivery schedule development principles traversing the various phases of the maturation tunnel. During the training period, the engineer will be assigned different work activities and would undergo training to ensure these competencies are developed.
Reservoir Engineering
The programme is open only to graduates who completed their Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering discipline in the last four years.
Brief Overview:
The reservoir engineering trainee program is designed to develop early career competency milestones in reservoir engineering. Duration is for a maximum of 36 months. These competencies include understanding and working with production & PVTanalysis data, well testing & analysis, material balance, nodal analysis, decline analysis, reserves estimation, basic geology & logs interpretation, and basic petroleum economics. During this period the engineer will be assigned different work activities and undergo several trainings to ensure these competencies are developed
Rig Operations
The programme is open only to graduates who completed their Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering discipline or Geology in the last four years
Brief Overview:
The rig operations trainee program is designed as a defined yet flexible developmental plan for a minimum of 36 months. During the first two stages of this program you will work off shore along rig crews. In the last stage you will be assigned a variety of assignments to handle on your own. On successful completion of the program you will be most likely assigned a position within the business in Operations however you may be assigned to EHSSQ, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Maintenance, Human Resources or training based on your competencies.
Lubes
The programme is open only to graduates who completed their Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering in the last four years
Brief Overview:
The Lubes Trainee will be expected to go through a structured program for a maximum of 18 months . During this period the trainee will acquire competencies in strategic and brand marketing, lubricant knowledge, customer service, entrepreneurial and technical skills so as to meet and exceed sales targets and business growth objectives of the Lubes team. These competencies would be gained via classroom training, on the job assignments/ projects in teams and as individuals. On successful completion of the program the trainee will be able to build maintain and sustain good and lasting customer relationship with our Lubricant customers so as to meet and exceed sales and technical targets as well as business growth objectives of the Lubes team
Downstream Engineering
The programme is open only to graduates who completed their Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering in the last four years
Brief Overview:
The Downstream Engineering department is one of flexibility which demands good teamwork skill as well as technical reasoning to operate successfully. The Trainee will commenced a 24 month program that will ensure that they acquire skills to carry out survey and design for all Civil works in our downstream installations/sites, and projects At the end of the programme you will be able to analyze survey reports, drawings, carry out preliminary and detailed designs, prepare bills of quantity (BOQ) and cost estimations and other necessary documents for tender purposes, develop project work plans and OESS/OORP documents as well as provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs . In addition the trainee would be competent at using AUTOCAD and other application software relative to aid in the above referenced
Business Development
The programme is open only to graduates who completed their Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Economics in the last four years.
Brief Overview:
As a trainee in the Business development team of Oando Gas & Power a whole new world of opportunities is open to you. The developmental plan will be for a duration of maximum 18 months. During this period you will commence the process to acquire skills that will eventually enable you to effectively identify business development opportunities, capital investment initiatives, operational improvements and strategic alliances for the Gas & Power business. This will be done through blended learning (classroom training, e learning , on the job assignments and projects) that will cover project initiation, engineering and construction services management efforts. Our main objective is to ensure that you obtain technical and analytical research competencies that will enable you understand energy usage trends in the Nigerian market and other relevant economies, as well as natural gas and electricity demand, power cost, rates, potential revenues, margins and profits and the overall viability of individual transactions and project. On completion of the program based on your competencies you will develop a vibrant career in this new and exciting sector
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelors or Master’s Degree with minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2.1) in any of the following areas/disciplines:

Minimum of 5 B’s AND 2 ‘C’s in WASC, SSCE OR GCE ‘O’ Level in one sitting, which must include Mathematics and English
Not older than 25 years and must have completed NYSC by 31st of December 2014
The programme is open only to graduates who completed their Bachelor’s degree studies in the last four years.
