Job Title: Cash & Voucher Programme Assistant – (National Contract)

About the Job

  • The Cash Transfer Program (CTP)  Assistant is responsible for assisting the CTP Officer to implementation of DRC CTP activities in the intervention communities in Borno State.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and ensuring the effective implementation of the CTP
  • Assist in all CTP related field work, including community mobilization, beneficiary identification/registration, distributions, and monitoring.
  • Assist in ensure that beneficiaries are effectively targeted according to established vulnerability criteria.
  • Partcipate in trader identification,selection and training
  • Assist in payment procedures, including documentation, approval and actual payment/voucher distribution
  • Assist in maintaining all documentations relating directly to CTP activities required to ensure accountability to DRC and donors, particularly where labor is concerned.
  • Assist in administrative matters relating directly to CTP activities: time-sheets, payment schedules, required paper-work and liaison with finance department.
  • Assist in administrative matters relating directly to cash transfer activities including reconciliation with cash-out agents following distributions.
  • Contribute to effective program reporting, monitoring and evaluation systems for both internal and external use in coordination with the other program staff.
  • Work with the Programme Officer to prepare monthly cash requirement forecast for CTP activities.
  • Provide information on CTP activities as requested by the Programme Officer
  • Report on any problems encountered in the field such as project participant complaints, local authority interference, and security threats to DRC staff and activities.
  • Assist DRC Security Officer and Cash Transfer Programme Officer on any threats to DRC staff and activities; promptly reporting incidents/security threats in areas of operation.
  • Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to DRC and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
  • And any other duties assigned to him/her by the Cash and Voucher Programme Officer

Job Title: Data Entry Officer (National Contract)

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

About the Job

  • Within the scope of DRC’s Food Security CBT project, funded by WFP, the Data Entry Officer will be responsible for the supervision of the CBT data-entry activities: formatting, creating and properly storing of the soft-copies of the beneficiaries data/report.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Responsibilities are to perform all sort of database relative work under the supervision of the AFSM/FSM for collecting of data and information and to ensure and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Design and develop data base, record keeping and maintaining the data base.
  • Generate reports on a weekly and monthly basis. (Statistical & Graphical)
  • Modify existing databases and database management systems according to requirements.
  • Monitoring of data entry. After entry of the data the hard copies will be returned to the respective teams. The ambiguous data forms will be returned to the respective community workers for accuracy.
  • Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement database security measures to safeguard information in client computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
  • Train data entry staff and other database users as necessary
  • Answer questions and queries on database use and management
  • Develop user access levels for each segment of database according to programme management specifications.
  • Ensure the participants welfare and their confidentiality during and after data collection.
  • Review procedures in database management system manuals for making any necessary changes to the database, according to protection management needs.
  • Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development, assessment, forms, format and tools development for collection of data and information.
  • Review workflow charts developed by programmer analyst to understand tasks computer will perform, such as updating records.
  • Data entry of the documents including (Baseline, End line data, Intake form, Awareness sessions, record and meetings of the CBT, training attendance and report, Focus group discussion, Key information interview.
  • Develop weekly, monthly and as per need reports and data from the database and needs to be shared with the AFSM/FSM and relevant staff.
  • Tools, formats and trainings necessary for performing the above tasks will be provided by the AFSM/FSM.
  • All activities will be implemented based on the weekly work plan in close coordination with the AFSM/FSM.

Location: Mubi, Adamawa

The Position

  • Sites Officer’s primary function is to ensure the quality of the planning, implementation and follow up of all technical aspects of the construction activities being implemented by DRC in accordance with the local regulations

Key Requirements
Essential (+ or – if needed):

  • University degree in engineering with minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant field
  • Experience from working within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context
  • Fluency in local language (Hausa, Kanuri etc) and English language speaking, reading and writing
  • Must be able to remain neutral when working with communities
  • Proficient in Autocad or suitable design software.

Job Title: Armed Violence Reduction Facilitator (National Contract)

Location: Mubi, Adamawa

Job Summary
DRC started operating in Nigeria in 2015 where plans to run a combination of emergency, livelihood, WASH, protection and advocacy programmes has been set. DRC currently has offices in Abuja, Yola, Mubi, Maiduguri and planning to run an office in Yobe, besides 50 staff members subject to increase in near future. Since July 2015, DRC/DDG have started up emergency operations in Nigeria in order to respond to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in northeastern Nigeria. DRC/DDG currently have a representational office in Abuja as well as bases in Yola, Mubi and Maiduguri. In 2016, DRC/DDG will commence an EU-funded programme that seeks to promote stability and socio-economic recovery in Borno and Adamawa states. The programme will focus on four key programmatic axes:

  • Promoting socio-economic recovery and sustainable livelihoods
  • Addressing the needs of youth at affected by displacement and at risk of criminality and radicalisation
  • Enhancing community protection and conflict mediation capacities
  • Reducing the risks associated with mines/explosive remnants of war (ERW)

The Position
Overall objective: 

  • Direct operational implementation of AVR activities in the DRC/DDG areas of operation (community safety planning, conflict management education, dialogue facilitation, youth engagement).
  • The AVR Facilitator is responsible for the implementation of the activities of the project with the level of quality required and in a timely manner.
  • The AVR Facilitator is also in charge of liaising with the project stakeholders, establishing a wide network including the authorities, security services, communities, NGOs, and other possible sources of information.
  • The AVR Facilitator will collect data and report on a daily basis to his/her Supervisor.

Key Requirements
Essential (+ or – if needed):

  • University Degree in Social Science or tertiary education in any other relevant field will be a preferred
  • Experience in community mobilization, facilitation of workshops or other participative activities (focus groups, mediation processes, etc.) necessary.

Job Title: Protection Manager (National Contract)

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

About the job

  • Under the supervision of the Protection Coordinator the Protection Manager will manage and lead field level protection programme implementation in Nigeria.
  • His/her primary role will be to provide technical guidance and programmatic supervision of project staff in day to day management of all aspects of the protection programme, overseeing quality programming.
  • The Protection Manager supports the Protection Coordinator in the design of new projects, team management, reporting, representation, project trouble shooting and advice.
  • The position is based in Maiduguri, but covers protection programme activities in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.

About you

  • To be successful in this role we expect you to be able to work in a multi-cultural team, able to manage a team of protection staff, a good understanding of displacement and protection dynamic in NE Nigeria.
  • You will also have 2-3 years’ experience working in complex emergencies.

  • Lead the conduct of rapid protection assessments to inform program design and strategic direction as well as identify risks and vulnerabilities, including those related to gender, age and diversity.

Job Title: Senior Protection Officer (National Contract)

Location: Mubi, Adamawa


About the Job

  • The Senior Protection Officer will be part of the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) Protection Team and will work under the guidance and supervision of Protection Manager.
  • She/he will be based in Mubi-Adamawa state to provide the field team constant support.
  • She/he will have an important role in implementation of protection activities including protection monitoring, protection awareness, referral pathways, provision of individual protection assistance, support to displaced communities as well as conducting training and capacity building for duty bearers.
  • Close coordination with the different protection actors and represent the organizations at the PSWG meetings.
  • She/he will assist in the establishment of effective community based structures in support of the protection programme.
  • He/she will support the field team through constant field visit to project sites.
  • The Senior Protection Officer is also responsible for the design and implementation of rapid protection assessments in their areas of responsibility, analysis of protection monitoring information and report writing.
  • Finally, the Senor Protection Officer supervises Protection Officers and Protection Assistants.

About You
