Data Network Performance Analysis:
Audits the needs of users of the 3G/Data platform.
New technology research, adaptation, deployment and commissioning.
Creates and implements a testing plan, evaluating each update, offering recommendations for changes along the way
Data Service trending and forecasting
Competitive data Service Quality Benchmarking
3G/Data service Availability
Network Quality diagnosis, audits and trending analysis on performance of Data NE.
Monitor Data Quality KPIs and escalate degradations to the Managed services partners and Operations, follow up with resolution, root cause analysis and Feedback.
Analysis of trend of Utilization/KPI reports for performance anomalies/exceptions and recommendation for optimal performance. (2G data and 3G).
Follow-up on expansions as required for all congested Data NE
High Level network Optimization support and network drill-down analysis.
Monitoring impact of new feature download as it affects Data Network.
3G RAN Performance & Optimization:
Performance and Capacity monitoring/reporting of 3G RAN NE
Network Quality diagnosis and performance trending analysis for 3G RAN
Ensuring and keeping the performance of the 3G radio network at the highest possible level by ensuring problems / degradations are handled swiftly by MS partners.
Daily review and follow up on 3G worst cells for timely resolution of identified issues
Coordinate routine 3G neighbor Audit and parameter consistency checks
Analysis of drive test reports and interpreting network counters for performance improvement.
Identifying problematic clusters and routes for Drive tests, following up with MS partners on recommendations for optimized performance.
Following up with teams responsible for clearance of service/KPI impacting alarms & Node B HW issues for early resolution
Coordinate routine checks on 3G RAN capacity resource utilization (CEs, Channel Cards, Licences on Node Bs, RNCs) and ensuring same does not impact KPIs
Provide support to MS partners for troubleshooting and resolving problematic cells with appropriate recommendations.
Monitor traffic trend on RNCs for possible bottlenecks
PS core Performance:
Performance and Capacity monitoring/reporting of PS Core NE; SGSN, GGSN, SASN, SAPC, DNS etc
Analysis of trend of mobility and session management reports for performance anomalies/exceptions and recommendation for optimal performance.
Coordinate routine parameter Audit and consistency checks on PS Core nodes (including QoS and PCRF application audit)
Monitor PS Core NE with the aim of identifying poor performance and escalating/follow up on Partners to improve performance and give customers desired experience.
Coordinate KPI improvement recommendations to ensure timely intervention in the case of perceived degradation on PS Core Nodes performance.
Monitoring the Data network traffic and observe various trends to detect any potential bottlenecks in advance
Partner Governance and Compliance:
Partner Governance for 3G RAN/Data RAN Performance management within the Managed Service Contract
Ensuring Daily/Hourly monitoring Key Performance Indicator of 3G/Data network
Coordinating implementation of parameter changes/improvement plan including for KPI improvement with MS partners.
Organize and Coordinate weekly performance review meeting with MS partners.
Coordinating monitoring of impact of migrations, upgrades, new features ensuring such does not impact on QoS.
Ensure process compliance by MS partners for any quality/KPI impacting changes introduced to the 3G radio network or to any changes made to methods, processes or procedures, whether internal or external
Network/Management Reporting:
Providing routine network status & performance reports for 3G/Data NE
Ensure accuracy & integrity of 3G RAN/Data reports provided by MS partners
Ensure that Network performance measurements of Data NE are consistent with best practices (3G/Data NE)
Validate the accuracy and integrity of all performance reports received from Managed Services partners (weekly/monthly/Quarterly/adhoc/etc) relating to Data services.
Identify and correct wrongly measured parameters to be in line with requirements.
Regulatory:
Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Engineer degree (communication, electronics, or related fields )

RAN BSS Performance:
Monitor Operations and Maintenance of BSS Network elements [ Ericsson and Huawei]
Monitor and analyze BSS KPIs on daily basis and make changes to improve QoS
Monitor and drive the reduction/elimination of BSS active alarms in the network.
Track Installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of BTS to ensure compliance.
Drive the use of various BSS features for improving and optimizing the performance of the network.
Liaise with NOC to track BSS related faults escalated to the field team.
Responsible for any quality/KPI impacting changes introduced to the BSS network or to any to any changes made to methods, processes or procedures, whether internal or external.
Work Cross – functionally with other departments within Networks to resolve all BSS issues
Drive Test:
Enforce contract compliance as it relates to Drive Test.
Ensure routine drive tests are carried out to improve the Network.
Analyze and interpret drive test reports and track recommendations for performance improvement
Call for BM DT to see areas Airtel need to improve.
Align routine BM DT accordingly with the Regulator’s [NCC] schedule.
Radio Network Optimization:
RPNO TEMS, MAPINFO, iManager/M2000, etc.] to analyze BSS Network and Optimize same.
Recommend and track Parameter tanning for RNO.
Ensure that the Pre and Post analysis of all Optimization activities are timely prepared.
Quarterly audit of Radio Network Parameters to ensure conformity
MS Partner Governance & Compliance:
Coordinate weekly BSS Performance/Optimization Meetings with MS Partners to review Network KPIs.
Benchmark performance of various partners to engender effective competition for continued improvement.
Validate the accuracy and integrity of all BSS and Optimization reports received from MS Partner (weekly/monthly/Quarterly/adhoc/etc.).
Provide support to MS partners for troubleshooting and resolving BSS alarms [Hardware and Software]
