Under the supervision of the Senior Finance Manager, the Accountant will provide daily accounting
support to the project. Specializing in payroll preparation, tax remittance, and monitoring of State finances.

Qualifications and requirements:
BSc in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 5 years relevant experience.
MSc in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent will be considered as an advantage.
CPA, ACA, CIMA, CFE or any other relevant professional qualification is required.
Experience in managing financial records of donor-funded organizations, and familiarity with donor and local contractual procedures is an advantage.
Essential Responsibilities and Specific Roles include:
Assist in the preparation of monthly imprest reports to be submitted to the Washington Home Office.
Coordinate cash flow and financial reporting between the projects national office in Abuja and its State offices.
Daily input and tracking of transactions into the projects financial system.
Prepare monthly payroll, employee tax deductions and remittance to tax authority.
Responsible for maintaining Vendor Withholding Tax records and preparation of the monthly remittance
Other job related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Experience with Windows-based applications with proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and word-processing (experience in MS Excel and Word).
Prior experience with bookkeeping/accounting software (Quickbooks, Quicken, etc.) a plus
Knowledge of budget preparation and monitoring.
Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and organization skills.
Familiarity with USAID and other federal contracts and regulations a plus.
