Job Function

We challenge you to join Philips as a Sr Finance Manager and lead the finance & accounting function in the startup Philips Nigeria organisation, with focus on securing and driving an efficient and effective finance infrastructure in your scope (compliance to IFRS, statutory & fiscal reporting, SOX compliance, Cash flow management, manage and develop the finance community in your scope).

Reports to the Finance Director West Africa

Job Objectives

    Assists the country manager in defining, maintaining and executing country policies & procedures
    Assists in driving financially sound business decision making by meaningful analysis
    Accountable the financial planning & reporting processes for the Nigerian country organisation
    Accountable for cash flow management of the Nigerian country organisation
    Ensures compliance in all aspects, from Sox Compliance to regulatory compliance and from adhering to general business principles to correct and timely IFRS, management, statutory and fiscal reporting
    Drive the financial integration into Philips standard ways of working by implementing ERP and leverage the use of the Philips standard financial processes
    Ensures efficient cross-sector infrastructure and processes are in place while leveraging the Philips Competence centers in all area’s Real Estate, Accounting, Procurement, Facilities etc.

Job Knowledge

    Solid basis and experience in Accounting & Internal Controls in the Nigerian regulatory environment
    Ability to prioritise in a startup environment
    Ability to influence and work with people residing in central shared service centres
    Familiar and comfortable with large, international, multi-matrix environment

Education and critical Experience

    B-Commerce Postgraduate in finance, accounting, actuary, economics or similar
    ICAN certified
    ACCA, CPA, CIMA certified
    MBA is an advantage
    Solid basis and experience in Accounting & Internal Controls and Nigerian regulatory environment by means of e.g. 4-8 years post articles experience in commerce with completion of articles with the Big 4
    Experience in ERP and preferably implementation
    Experience in financial and business information analysis and/or reporting
    Experience in the definition of standard processes befitting the type of organisation
    Strong analytical skills
    Knowledge of the industry
    Compelling communication skills
    Solid and demonstrable commercial acumen
