Reports To: Corporate Nursing Manager

Context/Scope:Lagos Brewery Clinic operates 24hours coverage with a Medical Adviser who visits three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) and spends two (2) hours on each day.
Working environments can be hazardous; illness and accidents may occur any time in the course of work, therefore, Occupational Health Service offers strict supervision and enforcement of safe working practices to minimise occurrence of accidents at the workplace.
It involves the application of professional principles in developing and carrying out nursing service, tailored to the changing environment as well as worker’s needs.

Undertake purchase and routine drug issue with accompanying systemic records update

Covering Lagos Brewery for effective management and reduction in health related concerns in order to produce a sound and viable workforce to meet the set goals and international standards prescribed by Diageo to project world class corporate image

    Leadership and Functional Responsibilities

Leadership Capabilities:

    Sound organisational / co-ordinating skills.
    Highly professional approach to responsibilities.

Functional Capabilities:
Medical Services-

    Ensures the maintenance of standard practice in Lagos Brewery clinic. Effective manpower deployment planning to provide for 24-hour coverage.
    Undertake routine/periodic medical examination and health screening for patients.

Clinic Administration-

    Oversee the Lagos Brewery Clinic.
    Collate data for various interval reports.
    Maintain appropriate inventory of medical supplies to ensure availability at all times.

Management Support-

    Ensure proper functionality of all medical equipment.
    Facilitate validation and renewal of nurses practice licence.

Purpose of RoleTo ensure and maintain healthcare service that produces a workforce that is physically, mentally and socially fit to optimise work performance and increase profitability.

    Overall supervision/Management of Lagos Brewery Clinic in line with accepted Diageo/International standards.
    Inculcate in colleagues and associates the need to aim for the highest level of professionalism – i.e. best practice principle.
    Seek to develop synergy with other key client units of GNPLC as a proactive step in health care management.

Qualifications and Experience Required

    Internationally recognised professional certification in Nursing.
    Registration with Nursing Council of Nigeria
    Valid and current practising licence.
    Experience – 10-12 years of post-qualification experience in nursing practice and at least 5years experience working in an industrial setting.
    Proactive in decision-making especially in confidential matters.
    Swift to impart knowledge / information on relevant issues as relates to the job.
    Computer literacy is mandatory.
