Job Title: Head of Managed Investment, Africa
Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
* To align with Head, Group Funds and implement a country wide Managed Investments strategy for
profitable growth covering all Managed Investments products & services the Bank wishes to pursue. This entails integration of Managed Investments products and services across all product lines, segments in country, encompassing ;
1. Development of differentiated Managed Investments propositions across customer segments that will anchor the Bank as a leading player
2. Identification of Managed Investments opportunities & ensuring active support of country CMG members, product and segment heads to develop and implement the chosen opportunities
3. Development of processes, systems & technical capabilities to ensure delivery of best in class Managed Investments products and service experiences
* Be the Center of Expertise, provide direction, guidance and input to country product managers on the development of long-term strategy, marketing and operational effectiveness in order to sustain the growth opportunities within the country.
* To set performance management standards and provide the basis for performance challenge to accountable P&L executives of Managed Investments.
* To work as part of CMG, to support delivery of the long-term economic profit performance goal.
* To build distribution capabilities, including specialists/advisors, call centers, and other channels

Strategy and Franchise Development
* Strengthen Managed Investments value proposition and entrench it as an anchor product to strengthening customer relationship and loyalty
* Expand market share through volume and spend
* Leverage strong alliances & business partners network to crystallize differentiated brand propositions across customer segments
* Build Managed Investments for white space growth segments
* Be centre of expertise in providing guidance and strategic to countries in deployment of Managed Investments strategy
* Focus on building strong Managed Investments expertise & bench strengths across product managers
Brand
* Develop & crystallize a clear internal and external branding proposition & communication strategy for Managed Investments
* Strengthen SCB in the marketplace as leader of Managed Investments offering unique value proposition
Leadership Effectiveness
* Provide guidance and leadership towards strengthening performance and reinforcement of accountabilities in Managed Investments resources across countries
* Lead and champion Managed Investments as a strategic imperative and a critical enabler to business priorities achievements.
Compliance & Control
* Ensure appropriate operational procedures in place to uphold and monitor activities to ensure compliance with Branding policies and standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Functional
* Thought leadership in Managed Investments with an insightful appreciation of retail banking industry products and developments
* Strategy articulation and execution
* Professional depth in Managed Investments encompassing product development, acquisition, portfolio, risk management, marketing and promotions management
* Deep understanding of customer product behaviors across customer segments and life stages
* Ability to balance trade-offs between risk vs returns as a consequence to achieving profit targets
* Professional depth (10-15 years) in Managed Investments with relevant exposure to development of integrated customer analytics, actuarial research and intelligence
* Preferably someone who has worked in a bank, has led a large sales force, with both product, marketing and sales experience.
* In depth understanding of consumer banking products, segments & distribution channels ( branches & remote channels) in country

* Strong strategic acumen coupled with strong execution capability
* Relationship building & influencing – able to build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders. Adept at working across matrix organization
* Team leadership – Able to build strong bench strengths in the team and provide leadership to country product managers

Qualifications & Skills
In compliance with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Act of 2004, all applicants should ensure that they have completed the mandatory NYSC programme. A discharge certificate will be required as evidence of completion of the programme. Where an exemption has been granted, a certificate of exemption will also be required.
