Engineer of The Year Award 2014
The Nigerian Society of Engineers is inviting entries for the 2014 Engineer of the Year Award.
A.) Guideline for Nomination for the Engineer of the Year Award
Nominations are invited for the Engineer of the Year Award for the year 2014
The Engineer of the Year Award, which is an Order of Dignity, was instituted to accord proper and due recognition for outstanding professional intellectual attainments and contributions to the general development of Nigeria.
The objective of the award is to stimulate and reward excellence in Engineering.
The award is open to all Nigerian Registered Engineers.
One or more engineers can nominate any Nigerian engineer of outstanding merit. An engineer may also by himself/herself, where not sponsored by another person, apply for this purpose. Where two or more engineers are collaborating on any deserving undertaking, they can be similarly nominated for a joint award.
Nominations are valid only for the year of nomination. Candidates who have been previously nominated should state clearly additional work(s) done or new grounds for re-consideration.
The Engineer of the Year Award Committee will be guided by the Following criteria:
Selection will be made from a wide range of contemporary works which are innovative, creative, essentially Nigerian in content and of national and international distinction.
The candidate’s achievement should be of benefit to the Nigerian Society in particular and development in general
The achievements may constitute a specific breakthrough in and discipline of Engineering.
The award emphasized distinct merit and upright morally.
B.) The Procedure for Nomination Application
Nominations shall be made strictly on the prescribed Nomination/Application format.
Sponsors should provide brief information on themselves and their relationship with the nominee.
All supporting documents including the nomination form should be sent in three (3) copies,
Candidates with incomplete documents will not be considered.
Neither the Committee nor any of its specialized sub-committees of Assessors will entertain or enter into any correspondence with Candidates or their sponsors as to the processing or fate of any Nomination/Application.

The format as advertised is also valid.
Only one nomination may be submitted per format.
Nomination/Application shall be accompanied by: The curriculum vitae of candidate(s) & Citation and summary of achievement in not more than 500 words.
All nominations and supporting documents must be sealed and must reach the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Society of Engineers on or before 29th October 2014
