Major Accountabilities of Position
Assist the Project Director to plan, co-ordinate and manage the design, procurement, construction and Commissioning of assigned projects, including taking a leadership role in the, preparation of proposals.
To ensure clear agreement of client objectives and that these are met or exceeded.
Ensure that HSE requirements are documented and understood by all project participants
Ensure compliance with HSE procedures
Maintain HSE focus for project duration
Demonstrate behaviour and business practices commensurate with a culture of world’s best health, Safety and environmental performance
Assist in developing, communicating, implementing and regularly review systems, strategies, standards and processes (including environmental plans or health management programs) that; demonstrate a visible and active commitment to: personal well-being, healthy and safe workplaces and activities as well as continuously improve health, safety and environmental performances.
Establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the project and post completion
Identify, document and communicate the client requirements
Ensure effective management of multiple stakeholders
Proactively resolve performance, scope, cost and schedule issues with the Client as they arise
Supports the Project Director to ensure effective management of client/contract, including delivery of the budget gross margin.
Ensure a clear definition of scope and compliance with requirements of the contract
Apply an effective change control process
Assists in the management and monitoring of project performance on an ongoing basis to identify issues and opportunities early and take pre-emptive action.
Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the Project with other Project Engineers. Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical and project support groups within the Company
Ensure design team are aware of, and are complying with, client’s Basis of Design and applicable Regulations and codes.
Monitor design activities, interdiscipline data flow and communications
Assist the project Director in the planning of the project and supports and management of the design, procurement and construction activities to meet the project schedule
Monitor the key reports and the development of corrective action plans.
Ensure timely and effective documentation turnover and project close-out.
Supports the project Director in defining the project quality requirements.
Ensure the right systems are in place and that these are applied on the project.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Supports the project Director in the implementation of lessons learned system
Ensure effective communications with the project team.
Ensure accurate, timely & effective progress reporting to the Client and internally to management.
Ensure ongoing monitoring of the communication network between project staff, the client and third parties and introduction of changes where required.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
Bachelor of Science or HND in relevant discipline.
Professional registration with active membership in a professional society (COREN or NSE) Project Manager (CPPM) certification or equivalent.

Skilled knowledge of Client Relationships, Commercial and Scope Management, Quality and Design Management, Cost Control, Procurement/Subcontracts Management, Construction Management etc.
Industry Specific Experience:
Approximately 8 years’ industry experience
