Job Description
MindAfrica is currently seeking creative and talented volunteers (undergraduates and graduates) to support the afterschool outreach programs in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The afterschool programs provide non-formal trainings that stimulate the creative, innovative and leadership capacities of secondary school students through a series of activities and projects in Leadership, Technology, Innovation and Community Service.
Programs are directed at community schools and are held between 2:00pm and 4:00pm weekly.
Volunteers would be required to:
Attend intensive training-of-trainers program
Commit to a defined training schedule (minimum duration of 1 week at a time)
Adhere to laid down program regulations, processes and procedures
Establish and maintain appropriate conduct and effective interaction with students
Work in remote rural settings and be physically fit to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties in a safe and effective manner
Have strong communication skills (oral and written)
Work as part of a team

Qualifications
Undergraduate pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Sciences, Arts or related fields with ability to translate complex concepts and theories into practical learning activities.
Graduate in any of the above or related fields with added experience in facilitating projects or discovery-based learning programs for youths.
MindAfrica is responsible for providing curriculum, training manuals and other training resources. The full extent of volunteer responsibilities and stipend would be discussed with successful candidates.
