Ambibol Diabetes Foundation aims to establish and coordinate a network
of Nigerian individuals and
corporate bodies too ensure the effective
flow of information and knowledge about diabetes, to raise public
awareness on treatment and management of diabetes, to serve as a bridge
between patients,
care givers, researchers, and the private/public
sectors to galvanize support for patients living with diabetes.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Doctor

Location: Nigeria

Typical Work Activities

  • Monitoring and providing Diabetic care to patients in outpatient clinic;
  • Patients requiring special care followed by investigations and treatment;
  • Working with other doctors as part of a team, either in the same department or within other specialties;
  • Liaising with other medical and non-medical staff in the Clinic to ensure quality treatment;
  • Promoting health education;
  • Examining and talking to patients to diagnose their medical conditions;
  • Carrying out specific procedures;
  • Making notes and preparing paperwork, both as a legal record of treatment and for the benefit of other healthcare professionals;

Other Responsibilities

  • Provide appropriate records based on the assessment of the patient’s condition, based on the history and physical examination;
  • Keep management informed on the care given to patients;
  • Pay due regard to efficacy and the use of resources;
  • Prescribe drugs, treatments and appliances that will serve the patient’s needs.
  • Abide by the hospital rules, protocols and standard practice.
  • Provide for appropriate treatment;
  • Keep clear, accurate, medical records which report the relevant
    clinical findings, the decisions made, and any drugs or treatment given;

Educational Requirements

  • MBBS from a recognized Institution. Any professional qualification will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience as a General Practitioner in a reputable Hospital.
  • Board certification and licensing a must.

Job Title: Nurse

Location: Nigeria

Duties include:

  • Assessing and planning nursing care requirements.
  • Providing pre- and post-operation care.
  • Monitoring and administering medication and intravenous infusions.
  • Taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures.
  • Writing records.
  • Supervising junior staff.
  • Organising workloads.
  • Providing emotional support to patients and relatives.

Job Title: Clinic Manager

Location: Nigeria

Job Description

  • The Clinic Manager is responsible for the supervision, direction and coordination of the day-to-day operations of the clinic.

Duties include:

  • Assisting in the establishmentimplementation of goals,
    objectives, policies, procedures and systems for all operational areas
    of the clinic 2-5 years of experience.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of long-range
    plans Participating in the selection, training and supervision of all
    clinic staff.
  • Planning and coordinating daily work assignments and operations
  • Evaluating performance, recommending merit increases and disciplinary actions
  • Resolving problems, both administrative and operational
    (including the maintenance of clinic property, computer systems and
    installed software applications) and ensuring compliance with
    regulations and standards

Job Title: Security Officer

Location: Nigeria

Job Description

  • To efficiently supervise and manage the Security Personnel under his Unit.
  • To train the Security Personnel in all security drills and security procedures laid down in the Standing Orders.
  • To periodically inspect serviceability of fire fighting equipment and Fire Tenders.
  • Inspect the log of entry and exit of personnel, materials,
    vehicles and stores at the commencement of his duty and at the end of
    his duty.
  • Be totally accountable for all eventualities in his Security Unit.
  • To act as Liaison between the Security Unit and Administration Manager of the Facility.
  • Maintain Liaison with local Police Station, Fire Station and nearest Hospital.
  • Attend Weekly Meetings of the Management of the Facility as Security Rep.

Job Description

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop a medium-term
    regional strategy to guide and inform future program development
    initiatives
  • Assist in preparation of project proposals for external donors,
    conceptualizing and developing new project concepts in close
    co-operation with Board of Directors and senior field staff
  • Promote the work and provide program briefings to donors and other stakeholders, as needed

Job Description

  • Assess the cleanliness and hygiene situation of the establishment and detect current and potential problems.
  • Perform common household tasks to maintain a clean work place.
    This may com in the form of sweeping floors, cleaning walls and windows
    and throwing the trash.
  • Make simple repairs that do not need professional help. Such repairs can include repairing wall panels and the like.
  • Simple security measures such as locking doors and closing windows is also included in the functions of a wall cleaner.
  • Continuous monitoring of the cleanliness of facilities and other equipment.
  • Informs the management for the need of extensive repairs and other major renovations in the work area or office.
  • Perform simple sterilization procedures such as boiling rugs and other cloths.
  • Initiate simple wood repairs that do not need require major attention.
  • Paints ceilings and other equipment that fall under minor repairs.

Monitoring hazards in the establishment such as those related to fire and electricity:

  • Cleans walls, windows and corridors in case of snow or other debris.
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in restrooms and other places in the building.

Job Description

  • Inspect vehicles for defects and safe operating condition
    before, During and after trips and submit a written report on the
    Condition of the vehicle at the end of each trip or tour of duty.
  • Check vehicle papers to determine the validity.
