Responsibilities
A high-impact Architecture function can accelerate progress against critical IT objectives that require a cross-enterprise perspective. The mission (duties and responsibilities) of Tezza’s Architecture is to:
Provides advice to customers regarding industry best practices in business process and software deployment methodologies
Conducts/leads business process analysis or design/construction phase of the project including writing functional specifications
Creates and modifies procedural and system documentation throughout the project
Develops functional and technical specifications for modifications, interfaces, reports and screens that meet the customers’ business objectives and are of sound design
Provides primary user support and verifies that the system provides the required business functions
Prepares and delivers presentations for user, management, and executive level audiences
Communicates and/or supports business cases to Product Management and Product Development regarding specific trends for future product functionality and enhancements
Assists Project Managers in planning efforts
Working with the Project Manager, creates detailed tasks on overall project plan (i.e. during sales cycle, during project mobilization and design, or based on change requests)
Ensures knowledge transfer is conducted with key customer project team members
Is a thought leader in the Transportation Solution Industry and is able to apply that knowledge to customer engagements
Incorporate SOA principles into enterprise architecture design, including identifying opportunities for common services and service reuse
Participate in relevant external standards organizations, industry groups, panels, etc.
Document all architecture design and analysis work
Develop, improve, validate, and use tools to facilitate enterprise architecture efforts
Lead analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture
Required Skills
Required Skills (Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities to enter the job):
10+ years solutions design and implementation experience at line of business or enterprise level
5+ years’ experience in design and architecture at enterprise level.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent discipline is required
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent discipline is desired
Desire work out of Lagos – Nigeria and eventual travel in central Africa
Experience leading large teams in a matrix management environment.
Fully knowledgeable about solution architecture patterns, integration patterns, mobile and web application architectures.
Able to quickly translate vague user requirements to possible and probable solution architectures.
Broad knowledge of technology from mobiles to servers and data centers.
Extremely quick to research and evaluate potential platforms and technologies.
Knowledgeable about general business transactions and functions across multiple domains – banking, retail, manufacturing, service etc.
Ability to prepare and present solution proposals.
Ability to work with a young and less experienced team and bring them up to speed quickly. Ready to act as chief innovation officer for the company.
Experience managing vendor agreements and tracking service levels.
Superior oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong presentation and facilitation skills to communicate with and persuade a wide range of audiences
