Imo State University Admission 2015/2016

Imo State University, Owerri, hereby invite applications from qualified
candidates for admission into the One Year Extra-Mural, programme for
the 2015/2016 Academic Year.

The Extra-Mural programme is for candidates with O’level deficiencies
seeking a remedy through
O’Ievel examination conducted by accredited
public examination bodies like WAEC, NECO and UTME conducted by JAMB.

Admission into Extra-Mural and Pre-Degree Programmes 2015/2016 Academic Year

Subjects to be covered include:

• English Language,
• Mathematics,
• Physics,
• Chemistry,
• Biology,
• Government,
• Literature-in- English,
• Igbo,
• Christian Religious Knowledge,
• Economics,
• Geography,
• Agricultural Science,
• French,
• History,
• Commerce and
• Principles of Account.

Candidates will be required to register on their own with the public examination body of their choice:

• The Pre-degree Programme is for candidates who already possess
  University admission requirements and seek to undergo a on year
  Pre-degree study preparatory to subsequent admission into the 100, level
  Degree programme of Imo State University.
• Pre-degree Programme will be available in Sciences, Business,
  Social Science, Humanities, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine and
  Health Sciences.

Qualifications

• Candidates for Extra-Mural studies must have attempted
  SSCE/NABTEB with evidence of the subjects failed for which remedy is
  sought.
• For Medicine, only one sitting is allowed at the SSCE, BCE, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent qualifications.
• Pre-degree candidates are required to take and pass the 2016 UTME with a JAMB pass mark.
• Candidates should make IMSU their first choice of University in the UTME In their application form.
• Candidates for Pre-degree must possess at least (5) credit
  passes at not more than two sittings at the SSCE or GCE
  (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) or equivalent qualifications For the Sciences,
  Engineering, Health Sciences, Business, Social Sciences, law and
  Education, the five credits must include English Language and
  Mathematics, while for the Humanities and Education (Humanities) the
  five credits must Include English Language.
• For a candidate to have a space in the University, he/she must
  score a minimum of 50% in the First and Second Semester Exams of the
  CENTRE in addition to a JAMB pass mark.

How to Apply
 
Candidates are to purchase the scratch card at the cost of Six Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N6,500.00) only, at any branch of Zenith Bank nearest to him/her. Sales of Scratch Cards will commence on Wednesday 9th September, 2015.
