Basic Function of the Position

  • The Bodyguards are responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the conduct of foreign policy.
  • They are responsible for protecting Chief of Mission (COM) personnel and official visitors from physical harm and embarrassment.

Position Requirements

  • Completion of Secondary School Education is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years prior work experience in providing close  protection services or protective driving services is required.

  • Must be familiar with the Nigeria driving laws, local customs, cultural norms, as well as all regulations pertaining to motor vehicle operations.
  • Must possess defensive driving skills; operate fully armored and non – armored vehicles.
  • Must be able to maintain situation awareness and conduct counter – surveillance to enhance post’s off – compound security posture.

Job Title: Northern Outreach English Language Assistant, FSN-08

Basic Function of the Position

  • The incumbent under the supervision of the Kano public diplomacy officer (PDO), plans, executes, and manages English language and youth outreach programs in Nigeria’s North and Middle Belt, including Abuja.
  • S/he identifies, develops, plans, and executes a youth outreach portfolio for the North, including outreach to secondary schools and occasional courses taught by embassy officers.

Position Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of education in the United States and Nigeria, as well as Nigeria’s political, media, economic, social, educational structures and institutions is required. Knowledge of how to draft and monitor grants is required.
  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain contacts at various levels in cultural, government, civic, religious and business circles.
  • Proficiency in computer skills with experience in MS Office suite, excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to type 45 wpm accurately are required. Typing proficiency will be tested.

Job Title: Foreign Service National Investigator FSN-08/FP-6

Location: Lagos

Basic Function of the Position

  • The incumbent serves as an advisor to the Regional Security Office (RSO) on security matters. In addition to conducting U.S. Embassy job-related investigations, the incumbent conducts sensitive criminal and consular fraud investigations.
  • S/he maintains regular liaison between U.S. Embassy RSO and Abuja local police and other Government of Nigeria (GON) security entities.
  • Additionally, s/he stays well-informed of all security related matters to provide up-to-date security briefing to new LES and to the RSO.

Position Requirements

  • Responsibilities include group and individual counseling concerning applying to U.S. Institutions, implementing, monitoring program activities and outreach events.
  • Additionally, s/he provides comprehensive, current and unbiased information, advice, and counselling on educational opportunities in the United States.

Position Requirements
