Job Purpose
To achieve business goals and brand saliency by championing Strategy and activation of events and
Sponsorship platforms for national and regional roll out in line with the overall brand strategy.
To ensure efficient, effective and seamless execution of Events & Sponsorship platforms end to end for zonal, regional & pan Nigeria exposure.
Ensure effective on-ground activation of product launches and related merchandising execution.
Key Accountabilities
Events & Sponsorships Strategy Articulation
Drive consistency in Sponsorship strategy and consumer segment business objectives.
Execute 80/20 agenda.
Integrate activities into digital space and conventional media
Drive the overall strategy and approach to sponsorship for the entire Airtel Nigeria business inclusive of regional strategies.
Manage events and sponsorship calendar effectively.
Effective liaison and guidance to regions in strategy formulation and execution. and also provide governance and support to the regions for events and sponsorship priorities per region (consistent holistic 360 degree brand activation focus in all regions)
Champion the Sponsorship agenda and challenge the business to focus on agreed strategy guidelines as and when necessary
Drive business discussions and coordinate business case articulation in conjunction with the support functions for identified sponsorship platforms
Identify and determine event execution priorities and provide rationale to the business as necessary.
Achieve War On Waste target of the company
SmartICONS Leveraging
Drive strategy to sweat brand ambassadors to the maximum
Collaborate with consumer segment leads to propose innovative ideas for leveraging assets.
Constantly recommend and execute revenue generating potentials of each brand ambassador.
Recommend recruitment of new smartICONS or delist with good business case.
Experiential Events Execution
Champion planning and execution of monthly brand activation calendar for B2C and B2B.
Articulate the motivation and rationale for identified brand building events pan Nigeria and gain approval via implementation of the required approval process
Project Manage and execute identified events on 360 degree basis as applicable
Manage agency and all elements of identified to ensure timely, high quality, high impact, execution of events ON TIME IN FULL every time
Plan, execute and manage all tactical ad-hoc events originating at HQ
Complete reports and evaluation documents with a clear recommendation and sign-off after all planned events
Finance and SCM information management, e.g. OAFs and POs
Sponsorship Activation
Support the admin, planning and execution of strategic sponsorship platform managed at HQ
Coordinate with regional and Zonal manages to identify and recommend compelling sponsorship Platforms per region better than our competitors.
Finalize and obtain approval from HQ for motivation documents for identified regional platforms
Co-ordinate with the requisite cross-functional teams in HQ and in the region to ensure optimization and timely execution of identified platforms
Work with user groups to leverage any ad-hoc/tactical sponsorships and support regional teams in activation
Work with Sponsorship partners, agencies and cross-functional team to ensure Activation ON TIME IN FULL every time
Complete and document Evaluation reports showing ROI per sponsorship platform and gain management sign-off
Finance and SCM information management, e.g. OAFs and POs
Product Launch Execution
Support the team to design appropriate activation launch plans for all new products and project manage all activations arising from same on a national level in line with set objectives and ROI.
Support the activation of all experiential elements of product launches/activation including merchandising/POS activation as relates to the product being launched or activation
Finance and SCM information management, e.g. OAFs and POs Follow up all such activations with evaluation reports consistently.
Evaluation & ROI analysis for platforms and events executed
Monitor and evaluate the outcome of sponsorship and event platforms executed and provide strategy recommendation on the way forward.
Keep accurate documentation of evaluation reports and ensure leverage in subsequent event/sponsorship planning
Desired Skills and Experience
Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills
A recognized university degree
Brand Management & Media experience (No less than 10 years)
Project Management qualification will be an advantage
Minimum of 5 years working experience in Brand/Trade Marketing with key achievements in event activation/execution
Local market knowledge and experience will be a key requirement Masters in Business Administration would be preferred additional qualification dependent on experience
