Sloane and Carter – Our Client, a leading Insurance Company in Nigeria, is looking to fill the role below to Undertake physical inspection of reported claims; analyse claims data and policy documents to determine the extent of the company’s liability.
Sloane and Carter is recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Claims Officer

Location:
 Lagos

Responsibilities
 

  • Register notification of claims into claims Register, open file and allocate claim number.
  • Extract relevant information on the risks covered from the underwriting file and document such in the claims file.
  • Acknowledge claim notification and request for claims substantiating document from claimant/broker to ensure accurate and complete information on claims.
  • Raise credit note on claimant where premium outstanding.
  • Follow-up and collect recoveries and salvage from negligent third party or insurer to reduce claims outlay before cheques for payment are released.
  • Prepare cheque requisition to pay claimants, co-insurers, solicitors and other professionals.
  • Verify correctness of values on claims cheque and dispatch to claimant/broker.
  • Register all approved claims cheques into Settled claims Register.
  • Send copies of loss adjusters reports to co-insurers and collate opinions on their recommendations.
  • Book appointment with claimants/brokers to arrange for physical inspection of claims
  • Undertake physical inspection and investigation to ascertain validity of report claims.
  • Write report on inspection and investigation containing findings and recommendation for minimizing effect of claims settlement on the company
  • Interpret policy wording, analyse and adjust claims to determine the extent of company’s liability and make recommendations to the Team Leader
  • Any other duty as assigned by Unit Head.

Job Requirement
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years working experience in similar capacity.

Job Title: Alternative Markets Executive

Location:
 Lagos

Job Description 

  • The major task for the role-holder is to seek alternative market channels that would become a veritable platform used in meeting customers’ needs.
  • He/She would ensure set targets for the number of viable and profitable channels are met for any period under review.

Responsibilities

  • Achieving set targets of signing up 2 new Channel partners and meeting financial target.
  • Reviewing sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
  • Gaining a clear understanding of different business channels and potential for partnerships.
  • Making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations as at when needed
  • Resolving clients complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; making recommendations to the Line Manager.
  • Contributing to group budget by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintaining relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
  • Cold calling to arrange meetings with potential Companies to prospect for new partnerships.
  • Creating detailed proposal documents as dictated by the prospective Clients
  • Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales.
  • Submitting activity and results reports, such as daily calls, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual reports/ analyses
  • Monitoring competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products and potential partnerships.

Job Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years working experience in similar capacity.
