Job Title: Chief Technical Officer – Mechanical & Control Engineering
Location: Nigeria
This role will involve managing daily mechanical operational & plant maintenance services; managing the physical and human resources required to ensure efficient plant operations and technical services while integrating the strategic plans of the organization to ensure attainment of the business objectives
Job Responsibilities
- People Development and Management
- Monitoring O&M Contractor to implement O&M Agreement and Plant Operations:
- Develop and monitor operating procedures and guidelines across the plant
- Revenue Invoices and Reporting
- Ensure the compliance and control of Safety, Quality & Environment procedures and standards
- Liaison with the regulatory and other governmental agencies to finalize and implement all agreements
- Contractual and Commercial interactions with off taker, Fuel gas supplier and Insurers
- Planning, budgeting and forecasting of annual, short term and long term revenue
- Special projects and assignments such as supporting the business development & technical teams
Experience and Qualifications
- Business leadership; General Management in the power sector
- A mechanical engineering background with hands-on experience in an electricity / power plant
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a leadership position
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience in a similar role
- Relevant certifications and trainings is an added advantage

This role will involve utilizing decision-making skills and leadership abilities to oversee and ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed by employees. You would take responsibility for operations and management teams while providing reliable electrical services using the most efficient methods available.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish, communicate and ensure the successful implementation of required strategic objectives and operational plans
- Review and evaluate the threats and risks to the successful implementation of the plan and prepare required strategies to mitigate and manage such risks.
- Set targets of business and operational performance for front line managers and staff and ensure that such targets are cascaded down to staff.
- Create a corporate culture through shared vision with management team and team building with staff, motivating staff to accomplish the business goals & objectives of the business
- Create an enabling environment that empowers Heads of Departments to identify and implement changes that will support the attainment of a high level of service delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
