Job Title: Head of Finance Ops
Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities
 

  • Provide and interpret Financial information;
  • Monitor, interpret cash-flow and predict future trends;
  • Analyse change and advise accordingly;
  • Prepare short and long-term budgetary plans – Financial Forecasting;
  • Formulate strategic business plans;
  • Research and report factors influencing business performance;
  • Analyse market trends viz-a-viz competitors.
  • Developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities;
  • Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems;
  • Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organizations such as the Inland Revenue;
  • Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines;
  • Manage budgets
  • When necessary, arrange new sources of finance for the company’s debt facilities
  • Supervise staff in the department
  • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.

  • Hands-on attitude. E-commerce is 50% operations, so you must not be afraid of rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty

  • Willingness to make decisions as necessary and appropriate in accordance with company policies. Self-starter who will take initiative to effect positive change

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking and Finance, Economics or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a supervisory Finance/ Accounting role
  • Certification from any recognized professional body (ACCA, ACA, ICAN, CFA) is compulsory
  • At least 4 years practical experience in a fast paced environment
  • Adequate knowledge of the Ecommerce Industry

 
Job Title: Head of Accounting
Location: Nigeria

Job Descriptions 

  • As Head of Accounting you work directly with the CFO and founding teams which you support in interdisciplinary issues such as controlling and accounting.
  • You will be responsible for the daily accounting transactions, accounting procedures and financial reporting.
  • You will also work with the AIG CFO to make sure corporate policies and procedures are adhered to.

Responsibilities
The position of Head of Accounting entails:

  • Overseeing the daily accounting activities required to accurately maintain the company’s general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and other financial records and schedules.
  • Managing and maintaining the financial accounting system, and all accounting processes including daily accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash collection, GL, payroll, bank, inventory reconciliation and tax filings
  • Supervising, directing and reviewing the work of a team of senior accountants (Heads of AP, AR, Inventory, Treasury) and their teams. Establishing working procedures and process for accounting personnel.
  • Managing monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
  • Reviewing general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting.
  • Preparing and entering monthly adjusting journal entries.
  • Analyzing and reconciling accounts as required.
  • Generating quarterly and annual financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow) monthly.
  • Assisting the FPA teams with budget and forecast preparation schedule by collecting relevant business data and projections from the line departments and provide relevant analyses and feedback to enable finalization of the budget and forecast proposals and all related reports including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
  • Evaluating & implementing internal and external audit recommendations & provides feedback to management on results
  • Ensuring compliance with all country legal, regulatory and tax reporting requirements

Profile Requirements
A successful candidate will fulfill the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant or the like from internationally recognized accounting body
  • At least 8 years practical experience

Job Title: Fleet Training and QA In Charge
Location:
 Nigeria
Department: Operations & Logistics
Objective 

  • Fleet Trainer ensures on time delivery and pickup through 3rd Part Logistics providers as per agreed service levels; manage 3rd part Logistics providers as required and demand of delivery/ pick up of Jumia / Kaymu shipments.

Responsibilities

  • To do qualitative and quantitative research on the training needs of driver team
  • To develop and improve content material for driver training
  • To conduct over the weekend trainings in full batches
  • To conduct role plays and focused group discussion in small batches everyday
  • To prepare and evaluate the progress of drivers at an individual level
  • Control and monitor driver customer communication to ensure good customer experience.
  • To contribute in OPS process and planning with a focus on driver needs and customer experience
  • Regular and consistent feedback activities / mechanisms to ascertain the service levels of 3rd Party Logistics providers and encourage improvements.
  • Reiterate on Values of Jumia/ Kaymu at all levels.

Competencies:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in mass training
  • Have a customer-centric attitude with patience to deal with people related issues
  • Bring empathy to the table and champion the causes of drivers in the organization
  • Liaise with Hub Managers and dispatch team
  • Should have the ability to work within set timelines in a constantly innovative workplace.
  • Can work with little supervision.
  • Good understanding of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Candidate should be a team player and demonstrate positive thinking, a good work ethic and company loyalty.
  • Candidates should be familiar with use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.

Qualification and Experience

  • A good first degree from a recognized Institution.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the area of Logistics / Customer Service / Account Management.
  • Applicant must be process oriented and analytical, must have experience in fleet training and must have handled teams.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management in online or offline retail formats / FMCG companies is a plus.
