Responsibilities
- The IP Planning Engineer will be responsible for ensuring high availability in the Core of the Main One IP network through the implementation of appropriate IP based-services in partnership with technology partner companies.
- Implement configuration of network routers and switches to meet specified high-availability requirement.
- Provide IP/MPLS services’ implementation covering the installations, testing & handover of internal and external projects
- Perform corrective maintenance for IP/MPLS network.
- Generate standard project documentation including detailed test plan for highly complex networks
- Ensure all third party application IP support contracts are active and functional.
- Troubleshoot problems with network and security infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, proxy servers and make corrective actions when necessary
- Ensure Capacity utilization is monitored and growth is projected
- Ensure IP resources are monitored and sparing is maintained

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required
- Hands on experience configuring Cisco, Huawei and/or Juniper routers
- Relevant certifications, preferably CCNA, CCNP and CCIP certifications.
- Good knowledge of networking technologies – TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, VPNs, Firewalls, Proxy etc.

Responsibilities
- The Network Access project manager will be responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure of designated projects within MainOne. The position entails being accountable, on-time and on-budget for service delivery and relationship management with clients.
- Be the primary contact person for designated accounts, planning and managing the overall business relationships between them and Main One.
- Manage planning and operations teams and external contractors during project execution.
- Manage and co-ordinate support and service engineers in attending to customers’ service requests and resolving same within SLA lead times with the aim of meeting Key Performance Indices (KPIs).
- Ensure the agreed project management methods, standards and processes are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Defines clearly project objective.
- Strategic planning for contract management and retention
- Escalates project issues in a timely fashion.
- Plan and manage customer meetings, resolving internal and external issues.

- At least five (3) years’ experience in a project management role.
- PMP or Prince2 project management methodology will be an advantage.
- Certification in CCNA also an advantage.

- Work in conjunction with the Product Development Manager on unique Managed Security products portfolio that present MainOne with a competitive advantage in the market space.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify options and recommend solutions for product feature and functionality rollouts; this includes the IT, Network Planning, Information Security and Sales teams.
- Monitor the product development process to ensure the requirements are being met and the products meet project objectives/customer expectations.

Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the efficient running of the Network Operations in its prime role of providing operational and maintenance support for the Main One Network & Data Center (‘Main One’) and its interfaces with interconnecting transmission facilities.
His specific responsibilities shall include the following:
- Ensure network availability of 99.99 %.
- Ensure world class network performance monitoring and that system/component/service outages are escalated within set or agreed timelines.
- Manage, coordinate and support network performance management systems for delivery on required network service levels. In addition, effectively implement an end-to-end fault management process companywide, ensuring that network mean time to repair (MTTR) is within agreed objectives.
- Ensure the location of any fault occurring on the network is determined, diagnosed, and rectified by instigating and monitoring the necessary fault remedial activity.
- Work with engineering teams to formulate, test and implement restoration plans for use in the event of network outages.
- Formulate preventive equipment maintenance plans for the different elements that make up the Main One Network.
- Maintain all network, customer and process documentation, including but not limited to design documents, AS-built documents, network availability, and spares holding location and availability.
- Have efficient and documented routines/ procedures with all concerned parties like infrastructure providers, connectivity providers, vendors, contractors, implementation and engineering/planning teams.
- Provide relevant information for billing capacity utilisation, network O&M costs, SLA credits etc.
- Coordinate the daily operational activities as performed by the various Cable Station managers and their staff and ensure that each Cable Station Manager is aware of the status of the system at all times.
- Ensure the surveillance, organization and motivation of all the team members of the Network Operations team.
- Establish, implement and continuously update the quality procedures and processes for the Network Operations.
- Prepare annual budgetary plans for the Network Operations team comprising of GNOC, Field Operations, Operations Support & PoP Facility Management.
- Provide the CTO with reports of Network Operations performance on a scheduled basis.
Qualification
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology/ Electronic Engineering or a related course.
- Minimum of 12 years work experience with 8 years in Operations and Maintenance field, managing NOC environments preferably for a large ISP, telecommunications or data centre company.
- Great working knowledge and hands on experience with SDH, DWDM, MPLS, TCP/IP based network technologies and solutions
