Our client is a high-tech OEM company specializing in the Research and Development, production, sales and service of mobile communication products. The company has quickly become an important part of the mobile phone industry and one of the major mobile phone manufacturers in the world. Their subsidiary which is a mobile internet service that is strategically focused on the development of African mobile internet services, with products that includes some enviable app-store brands.  The Subsidiary’s main priority in Africa is to promote and build a mobile internet eco-system and create a way for the people in Africa to communicate with the world.


Job Title: Deputy Country Manager
Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring the efficiency of business operations as well as setting strategic goals for the future.
  • Meet the annual sales targets outlined for each product.
  • Ensures service quality and organizational stability through development and implementation of standards and controls, systems and procedures, and regular evaluation of performance.
  • Oversees the financial activities of the organization including budgeting, performance reporting (cash, profit and assets).
  • Works with all stakeholders in securing the growth, profitability and sustainability of the Company.
  • Keeps the Country manager fully informed of Company’s performance and all the important factors influencing it. 
  • Also, informs the country manager about trends, issues, problems and activities in order to facilitate policy- making.
  • Identifies problems and opportunities and addresses them; brings those which are appropriate to the country manager and, facilitates discussion and deliberation.
  • Recommends policy positions.
  • Provides general oversight of all Company activities, manages the day-to-day operations, and ensures a smoothly functioning, effective and efficient organization.
Key Requirements
  • Experience in the Telecoms/Mobile app field is a must.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience of which 5 years must be in a senior management position within telecommunications or mobile app environment
  • Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s degree in related fields is an added advantage.
