Kogi State University, Anyigba was established on 18th November, 1999 and currently, has a total student population of over 23,000 students spread across its seven (7) Faculties of Agriculture, Arts and Humanities, Education, Law, Management Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and a College of Health Sciences. Though a State University, Kogi State University accommodates a significant number of non-indigenes, from all parts of Nigeria. The University has graduated about 16,500 students. The University commenced postgraduate programmes in all the faculties in 2008/2009 except for Faculties of Education and College of Health Sciences in order to boost research and high level manpower development.

Job Title: University Librarian

Location: Kogi State

Job Description
The Librarian is a Principal Officer of the University responsible for the administration of the University Library and coordination of all library services in the entire University community and reports to the Vice Chancellor.

The Person for the position of the librarian

The ideal candidate for the position must have drive with strong passion for result and must:

  • Be below the age of 60 years at the point of assumption of duty;
  • Have strong leadership and communication skills;
  • Be creative, proactive and self- motivated;
  • Have excellent interpersonal skill;
  • Have integrity and commitment; and
  • Be in good physical and mental health.

Requirements
Candidate for this post shall:

  • Be professionally qualified and be a practicing Librarian;
  • Possess a good honours degree and Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from a recognized University with at least fifteen (15) years relevant experience, preferably in a University or other institutions of higher learning at least five (5) of which must be at the Deputy University Librarian level
  • Have contributed to knowledge through research and publications in reputable journals, as well as possess proven records of sound administrative leadership;
  • Be registered member of the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN);
  • Be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications;

Condition of Service
The condition attached to this position is as generally applicable in Nigerian University System and as may from time to time be determined by the Governing Council. The appointment shall be for a single term of five (5) years.

Job Title: Bursar

Location: Kogi State

Job Description

  • The Bursar is a Principal Officer and, in accordance with the University Law, the Chief Finance Officer of the University. He is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day- to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
  • Applicants for this key Management position must be candidates with vision, proven professional distinction, managerial ability, integrity and transparency in private and public life, who should be able to provide the Management of the University with appropriate advice and support for all of the Institution’s financial transactions.
  • He/She shall advise the Vice Chancellor on finance-related matters, coordinate the development and update the University’s financial management plans; coordinate the preparation of periodic statement of financial performance, statement of financial position, cash flow and consolidation.
  • He/She shall ensure that accurate records are maintained of all assets and liabilities held by the University. The duties shall include budgeting and budgetary control, monitoring treasury activities including cash flow projections and forecasts for prudence, transparency and accountability.
  • He/She shall on the directives of the Vice Chancellor negotiate with financial and government institutions with regard to financial matters.
  • The right candidate should also have the ability to develop linkages with external communities to support the needs of the University, command respect and engender the cooperation and loyalty of staff and students of the Institution.

The Person for the Position of the Bursar

  • The ideal candidate for the position must have drive with strong passion for result and must:
  • Have a minimum of fifteen (15) years post- qualification experience in a University or comparable Institution;
  • Have a minimum often (10) years cognate experience after professional qualification;
  • Have a minimum of six (6) years residency at the level of a Deputy Bursar or its equivalent in a tertiary Institution.

Qualifications
Candidate for this post shall:

  • Possess a good honours degree in Accounting, Management or Social Sciences with a minimum of Second Class Lower from a recognized University with at least fifteen (15) years relevant experience, preferably in a University or other institutions of higher learning and at least six (6) of which must be at the Deputy Bursar level;
  • Have professionally recognized Accountancy qualifications of ACA, ACMA, CPA, ACCA, ICAN or ANAN;
  • Not be older than 60 years old as at the date of possible assumption of duty;
  • Be computer literate and have a working knowledge of good Accounting packages.
