Job Title: Project Assistant I
Ref No: IITA-HR-NRS2016-044
Locations: Abuja and Ibadan
Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract)  
Responsibilities
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties: 

  • To undertake duties as directed / requested by the Pilot Manager to support the delivery and Implementation of AgResults project;
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Handle requests for information and data
  • Assist in data collection, analysis and presentation;
  • Prepare written responses to routine enquiries
  • Contribute to the work of AgResults as appropriate.
  • Attend AgResults organized meetings and project initiatives as required.
  • Perform any their duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification

  • HND/B.Sc in Management, Social Science or Agricultural related courses with at least Two (2) years of relevant work experience performing similar role.

Competencies
Ideal Candidate must;

  • Be computer literate with a good working knowledge of computer based control systems and shared network drives.
  • Have strong Excel skills.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of supporting a project manager.
  • Experience of supporting technology transfer to smallholder farmers or innovation commercialization in agricultural sector.

Job Title: Administrative Support Officer
Ref No: IITA-HR-NRS2016-045
Location: Ibadan
Recruitment Type: National (3-year renewable contract)  
Responsibilities
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties: 
Administration of IDMU and E-Research: 

  • Keeping records of all Unit’s activities and projects in MS Project, synchronized on SharePoint;
  • Monitoring timely delivery of work plan items, task starts all deadlines, institutional calendars etc;
  • To act as M&E focal point of the Unit;

Budget administration: 

  • Receiving intense hands-on training on all administrative issues with special respect on Oracle core application and relevant add-on modules;
  • Handling internal workorder/facility /equipment requests and ready-to-sign-prepared purchased requests of the unit;
  • Monitoring, updating and clarifying issues on cost centres of the unit with the Finance Directorate;
  • Reporting on weekly basis;
  • Keeping inventory data of the unit up to date and clarifying issues with Supply chain or other relevant unit;

Data Management: 

  • Oversee the management of data if in line with the unit’s data management plan;
  • Reporting on quarterly basis;
  • Manage unit’s SharePoint site including creating templates, report tracking, tagging, subsite administration;
  • Back up of all unit data and monitoring the backup practices of staff members;

Travel and meeting administration:

  • Keep minutes of unit or E-Research meetings;
  • Manage logistics of meetings, internal trainings etc. for IDMU, subunits and E-Research inclusive subcommittees (Open Access, Oracle, Com.);
  • Manage meeting documents (invitations, agenda, attendance, presented documents/files, pictures, minutes);
  • Manage travel arrangements (as far as not done by travel office);

Administration of personnel: 

  • Keep unit’s leave calendar up to date;
  • Handle all administrative matters of interns, consultants and guests;
  • Collaborate with Corporate Administration, in particular on security and locating staff;
  • Coordinate internal training on administrative matters to Unit’s staff members;
  • Report on monthly basis;
  • Assisting unit’s staff members in using administrative self-service applications (Oracle, Hurix, work order request, travel authorization, vehicle request, etc.);

General Administration: 

  • Coordinate workflow tracking and enhancing unit’s internal communication;

Qualifications 

  • HND/BSc in Business Administration, Project Management or any other related field with at least five (5) years relevant experience performing similar role.

Job Title: Institutional Data Manager

Responsibilities
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties: 

  • Advice project managers and project data manager on data management issues;
  • Serve as major contributor in writing procedural guidelines and workflow descriptions on project in collaboration with SharePoint designer (creating and refining project/unit SP-site template;
  • Guide in writing project/unit data management plans;
  • Seek approval of project/unit data management plans;
  • Facilitate project data management discussion and also travel to other countries for data management coordination;
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification 

  • MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or any other related field with at least ten (10) years relevant experience in data management, research or project development.

Job Title: Technical Field Supervisor

Responsibilities

Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties: 

  • Assist in keeping records of date of planting, Aflasafe application and harvesting of maize during planting season;
  • Assist in collecting maize and soil samples from the farmers’ fields and stores during sample aggregation;
  • Supervise the activities of Field Officers during sporulation verification;
  • Supervise the activities of Field of Officers during the taking of GPS coordinates of maize fields;
  • Provide technical support to Implementers and farmers on best Maize agronomic practice;
  • Assist in training of implementers and farmers under the Aflasafe AgResults project;
  • Assist in field demonstration of Aflasafe application to farmers and Implementers under the AgResults Aflasafe project;
  • Maintain accurate data records and field notebooks and computer records of the AgResults Aflasafe project that can be accessed on demand by supervisor;
  • Lead AgResults Aflasafe Field Officers for sporulation verification and GPS coordinates;
  • Assist in data entry and work schedule for AgResults Aflasafe project;
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory and field safety regulations;
  • Collect soil and maize samples at aggregation for AgResults Aflasafe project;
  • Assist in report collation and writing for the AgResults Aflasafe Project;
  • Assist in monitoring of activities of Implementers with the AgResults Aflasafe Project;
  • Perform any their duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • HND/BSc in Biological Science or relative courses with at least Four (4) years of relevant work experience performing similar role.
