The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is recruiting to fill the vacant position below:

Job Title: Cooperation Field Officers
Location:
 Maiduguri and Yola
Main Responsibilities
 

  • Contribute to the fulfilment of Cooperation objectives specifically capacity building and partnership support to the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) Borno and Yobe branches, and the ICRC Sub Delegation in Maiduguri with technical direction from Cooperation Coordinator.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Cooperation Framework Agreement annexes relating to general Cooperation support
  • Closely monitor financial processes including transfer of funds and financial reporting/retirement as well as coaching on finance management with Coop Assistant in line with the Cooperation Framework Agreement annex on financial procedures
  • Provide support as relevant at Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) workshops ensuring incorporation of Safer Access in collaboration with Coop Assistant and NRCS HQ
  • Work to ensure coordination and coherence between the different ICRC operational objectives that involve NRCS in the branches
  • Oversee and monitor projects and activities in the identified branches with requisite reporting
  • Ensure Safer Access application in branches

Required Qualifications 

  • University degree in Project Management, Business Administration or equivalent field
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar field
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Hausa with Kanuri as an added advantage
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Awareness of the socio-political environment

Job Title: Cooperation Finance Officer
Location:
 Abuja
Main Responsibilities 

  • Contributes to the implementation of the Cooperation objectives for Nigeria, specifically capacity building,
  • partnership support, and Movement coordination aspects as related to financial relationship with the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS)
  • Ensures regular operational and financial reporting, accounting to established format and procedures
  • Maintains regular contacts with NRCS related to financial management of transferred funds, ensuring proper retirement in close collaboration with ICRC field structures
  • Controls complete accounting documents including invoices, vouchers and ensures all supporting documents are duly approved, signed and stamped, calculated correctly, dates with no alterations
  • Plans, prepares and participates in the NRCS-ICRC planning processes together with the other Cooperation team members
  • Produces regular and ad hoc financial reporting according to established format and procedure in coordination with ICRC Finance department
  • Represent ICRC on NRCS technical finance-related meetings
  • Prepares and follows up on Requisition Orders and other Logistics services

 Job Title: Protection Field Officer
Location:
 Maiduguri
Main Responsibilities
 

  • Responsible for the implementation of Protection of the Civilian Population activities in her/ his Area of Responsibility(AoR)
  • Participates in the analysis of the situation and humanitarian issues.
  • Identifies protection problems and ensures proper treatment of enquiries following family separation, violations of IHL and other humanitarian consequences of the conflict, violence or natural disasters
  • Participates in networking and dialogue with relevant interlocutors, ensures interaction with other departments (Assistance, Prevention and Coopertation), Sub-delegations and offices, the NRCS and external contacts.
  • Data analysis, according to working methodologies and procedures in order to ensure coherence and efficiency in addressing Protection issues, including Healthcare in Danger (HCiD) with the HCiD Focal Point.
  • Carries out training of new recruits and briefing of other ICRC staff on specific handling procedures applicable to Protection activities

Required Qualifications 

  • University degree in a relevant field, preferably in the field of law
  • 4 years experience in the Protection/Tracing
  • Excellent written and spoken English, Hausa, Kanuri (Shuaa-Arab and French an asset)
  • Good computer skills: knowledge in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Represents the organization properly with different level of interlocutors.
  • Sound analytical skills, Good knowledge of the Area of Responsibility (Political, cultural and geographical)
