State2State is presently accepting expressions of interest from qualified Nigerian nationals for this upcoming project. Chemonics seeks candidates with experience working on USAID or other international donor funded projects in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria to fill the position below:
Job Title: Technical Expert
Location: Northeast and Northwest, Nigeria
ObjectivesThe objective of the project will be to increase the effectiveness, accountability and transparency of selected state and local governments (LGAs) in Nigeria. This will be achieved by strengthening systems to improve the delivery of services in key sectors (basic education, primary health care, and water, sanitation and hygiene); increasing the efficiency of key governance operations; increasing government’s responsiveness to citizen needs and priorities; and improving government’s and civil society’s capacity to manage conflict.
Project Summary
The project is expected to have four components:
- Improved delivery of selected services – basic education, primary health care, and water, sanitation, and hygiene – through more effective and transparent budget processes
- Improved responsiveness to citizen needs
- Improved capacity to manage conflict.
- Increased efficiency of government operations in areas of audit, procurement, and internal revenue generation

Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years professional experience in a relevant field

- Experience working with USAID- or other donor-funded projects
- University Degree required; advanced education degree preferred for technical experts
- Experience working in Northeast and/or Northwest Nigeria
