General Position Summary

The Store Keeper will be responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager in managing warehouse activities and keeping the food and non-food items stored in it according to donor regulation as well as Mercy Corps procedures&policies. Together with Warehouse Manager,
He/she will fill out and maintain warehouse ledger, stack bin card, tally sheet, waybill and all related warehouse documents, oversee day to day warehouse operations, coordinate daily labour, conduct stock reconciliation on a daily basis and transactions carried out in the warehouse meet the required standard.
Essential Job Responsibilities

Assist Warehouse Manager in daily warehouse operation as instructed.
Supervise commodity loading and off-loading and complete documentation.
Supervise commodity reconstitution and ensure broken containers and slake/torn bags are immediately reconstituted, weighed and re-bagged properly.
Conduct daily inspections of the condition of the warehouse, looking for holes in and damage to the roof, windows, and/or doors. Requests and ensure immediate repair of any such defects detected during the daily inspection.
Ensure to dispatch commodities as per approved distribution/delivery plan to designated distribution points.
Ensure that all incoming commodities are received against waybills and proper remarks are made on the waybills stating any irregularity or discrepancy between the original condition of the commodities and their condition at the time of receipt.
If required, prepare waybills for all outgoing/dispatching commodities and obtain signatures from truck drivers and/or other receiving authority.
Ensure to maintain sufficient stock of supplies medicines, stationary, equipment, non-food items and general items to meet day to day demand.
Maintain accurate and up to date records of store items including proper use of stack cards to mention physical stock of commodity
Register all receipts / delivers and ensure that proper documentation is completed.
Ensure that all necessary equipment such as scales, filing cabinets, torches and materials such as cleaning materials, stationeries, rodent control materials and office furniture are supplied to the warehouse.
Ensure that the warehouse is kept clean at all times and clean from all dirty and dust that can attract or harbor rodents
Attend internal and external coordination meeting as needed.
Represent Mercy Corps in a professional manner to suppliers, government officials, local and international community groups, suppliers, the UN and others as needed.

The Water, Hygiene and Sanitation Officer is responsible for both the soft and hardware components of the sanitation infrastructure activities of the WASH program in targeted implementation area.
The Hygiene and Sanitation officer will assist in supervision of the all works related to implementing infrastructure improvement; and provide input on monitoring and evaluation of the project.
Essential Job Functions

Under the guidance of WASH Program Manager, supervise the implementation of the program in the field, and provide input into design and improvement of WASH infrastructure in targeted areas.

Assist in ensuring that commodities are received / dispatched correctly by taking count at the time of off-loading and loading inside the store and on the truck.

The Mercy Corps Food Warehouse Manager will manage all warehouse inventory and will ensure that all documentations in relation to dispatches/distributions is maintained as per donor’s requirement as well as MC’s standard commodity management policies and procedures.

The warehouse manager position is based in Biu and h/se will travel frequently to Damboa in order to observe food distribution and perform all tasks required at that location.

Job Title: Program Officer – Nutrition

General Position Summary

The Mercy Corps Nutrition Officer is to ensure successful implementation of BSFP project activities in Damboa.
Working in partnership with the Program Officer (Food distribution), he/she shall ensure BSFP project beneficiaries receive supplementary food items (monthly rations).
He/she shall further support CMAM/IYCF trainings for staff/volunteer/mobilizer and community group trainings.
Further, he/she shall ensure consistent MUAC screening and follow up i.e. referrals to existing OTPs/stabilization centers.
The position is based in Damboa with at least 100% time to be spent in the field in ensuring delivery of project objectives.
Essential Job Functions

Under supervision of Deputy Team Leader, the Nutrition Officer provides technical oversight of all aspects of BSFP program implementation and community sensitization around good nutrition, hygiene and health practices.
Nutrition Officer will advise on nutritional messaging strategy to ensure the messages developed address the current knowledge and practices gaps, messages channels are in line with those most commonly used by the communities;
S/he will deliver trainings to Mercy Corps program staff as well as community-based volunteers on community sensitization and messages delivery.

General Position Summary

The Mercy Corps Program Officer (Food Distribution) is to ensure that all documentations in relation to distributions are regularly maintained as per donor’s requirement and MC’s standard commodity management policies and procedures, and made available to the management in an orderly manner.
The position is based in Damboa with at least 100% time to be spent in the field in training, and assisting Food distributors to perform their job as per the expectation of the agency. Support the deputy team lead in developing food requirement and distribution plan to be shared with WFP.
Job Responsibilities

Working with information provided by the Program team, the Food Distribution Officer will create weekly distribution schedules for commodities being delivered to distribution points. The Food Distribution Officer will coordinate with warehouse manager and logistics team to ensure that sufficient commodities, labor and transportation are available to realize distribution schedule effectively
Based on the distributions plans, prepare individual dispatch store release order and obtain approval from the Deputy Team Leader and Nutrition Officer.
Accompany distributions to field and ensure that distribution is carried out in accordance with commodity handling guidelines. Check completeness of beneficiary list. Ensure distribution point has sufficient labor/volunteer available to accomplish job
Arrange proper crowd control barriers such as fencing, guards, etc., to facilitate smooth and speedy distribution of commodities.
Ensure distribution date/time and inform recipients through te community leaders
If required, arrange necessary scoops, scales and scoopers
Display on visible sign board/banner and at the distribuiton center the actual ration scale to be used on that particular day and ensures that beneficiaries are aware of their right ration
Ensure issuance of correct rations to intended recipients through proper distribuiton/scooping procedures.
Fill out monitoring form following each distribution. Document and analyze any problems encountered during distribution and recommend follow-up
Provide daily and weekly report to Deputy Team Leader and Nutrition Officer comparing actual and planned distribution
Complete standard Distribution Center visit report at the end of each distribution and submit to Deputy Team Leader. Before Submitting to the supervisor make sure that the total quantity of each commodity distributed reconciled to the distribution list
Ensure that commodity balances at the end of the distribution are returned to Mercy Corps warehouse through return waybill documenting the commodity/units/ and total kilogram.
prepare loss and adjustment report for any loss of commodity at the time of distribution.
As needed, perform training on commodity handling and food distribution to the program staff, and community leader.
Complete all monitoring, evaluation and data reports in timely, accurate manner.

General Position Summary

The Mercy Corps Program Officer (Food Distribution) will ensure that all documentations in relation to distributions are regularly maintained as per donor’s requirement and MC’s standard commodity management policies and procedures, and made available to the management in an orderly manner.
The position is based in Damboa with at least 100% time to be spent in the field in training, and assisting Food distributors to perform their job as per the expectation of the agency.
Support the deputy team lead in developing food requirement and distribution plan to be shared with WFP.
Essential Job Functions

Working with information provided by the Program team, the Food Distribution Officer will create weekly distribution schedules for commodities being delivered to distribution points. The Food Distribution Officer will coordinate with warehouse manager and logistics team to ensure that sufficient commodities, labor and transportation are available to realize distribution schedule effectively
Based on the distributions plans, prepare individual dispatch store release order and obtain approval from the Deputy Team Leader and Nutrition Officer.
Accompany distributions to field and ensure that distribution is carried out in accordance with commodity handling guidelines. Check completeness of beneficiary list. Ensure distribution point has sufficient labor/volunteer available to accomplish job
Arrange proper crowd control barriers such as fencing, guards, etc., to facilitate smooth and speedy distribution of commodities.
Ensure distribution date/time and inform recipients through te community leaders
If required, arrange necessary scoops, scales and scoopers
Display on visible sign board/banner and at the distribuiton center the actual ration scale to be used on that particular day and ensures that beneficiaries are aware of their right ration
Ensure issuance of correct rations to intended recipients through proper distribuiton/scooping procedures.
Fill out monitoring form following each distribution. Document and analyze any problems encountered during distribution and recommend follow-up
Provide daily and weekly report to Deputy Team Leader and Nutrition Officer comparing actual and planned distribution
Complete standard Distribution Center visit report at the end of each distribution and submit to Deputy Team Leader. Before Submitting to the supervisor make sure that the total quantity of each commodity distributed reconciled to the distribution list
Ensure that commodity balances at the end of the distribution are returned to Mercy Corps warehouse through return waybill documenting the commodity/units/ and total kilogram.
Ensure to prepare loss and adjustment report for any loss of commodity at the time of distribution.
As needed, perform training on commodity handling and food distribution to the program staff, and community leader.
Complete all monitoring, evaluation and data reports in timely, accurate manner.
Establish cordial, professional relations with communities and others involved with food logistics, allowing Mercy Corps to provide appropriate assistance and enforce conditions for receiving food distribution.
Represent Mercy Corps in a professional manner to suppliers, government officials, local and international community groups, suppliers, the UN and others as needed.
Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
Knowledge and Experience

Degree in relevant field required;
3 years of experience working on the development, implementation, administration and compliance of a field-based international development or humanitarian program; general program management experience required.
Must have full knowledge on food and non-food distribution working with UN or INGO.
Minimum two to three year work experience working in large scale IDP camps/host food distribution.
Should have professional approach dealing with refugees and IDP beneficiaries
Experience working with multiple stakeholders to identify beneficiaries according to criteria required.
Experience with running assessments, monitoring and evaluation and other learning efforts required.
Experience representing the organization and its interests to a diverse range of local and international government officials, local civil society organizations, other international organizations, the media and the public.
Commitment to renewing and maintaining knowledge of best practices

Support/supervise SWODEN, CAPP and AHI (ENGINE sub recipients) in Kano, Kaduna and Lagos
Provide support on gender program budgets and budget revisions
Review gender program subgrantee financial reports for correctness and completeness and ensure that reports are submitted on time.
Assist in gender program subgrantee site audits and prepare site visit reports.
Conduct gender program subgrantee pre-award assessments for Gender program and recommend modifications to the subgrant agreement and/or monitoring plan to lessen financial and compliance risks.
Assist in the preparation and review of GENDER program subgrant agreements.
Assist in the review of gender program subgrantee financial reports for correctness and completeness and ensure that reports are submitted on time.

General Position Summary

Mercy Corps Nigeria is looking to hire two operations Assistants who will provide support to the Biu office for facilitating and executing different aspects of Administration, logistics and procurement responsibilities.
S/he will work extensively with other departments to ensure that all program support activities are implemented successfully and timely.
He will work with the rest of the operations team to ensure that all activities is carried out in a timely manner.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Procurement:

Assist staff as needed on creating clear and understandable purchase requests and other procurement documentation.
As and when requested, collects quotations and bids from the market for requests as per Mercy Corps standard policies.
Make sure that all required documentation of supplies and transactions are completed and filled correctly.
Maintain and update procurement files as often as required for easy reference and follow up.
Assist with payment requests and follows up with status to ensure vendor payment is done in a timely manner.
Logistics and Assets:

In coordination with the Operations Officer, ensure that all assets in Biu office are tagged and transferred from one user to the other using proper documentation.
Participate in regular  quarterly assets inventory count  and checks at minimum on a quarterly basis
Assist in the operation of generator, inverter other office equipment as well as monitors the servicing schedule.
Support in the preparation of monthly assets, inventory report as required.
Administration:

Maintain appropriate filing systems for office correspondence, ensure proper tracking of office correspondence.
With support from the Operations officer, ensure that the office runs in a professional and responsible manner including hosting guests, cleaning, receptionist duties and general contact and liaison with outside agencies.
Ensures office has sufficient office supplies, such as stationary, cleaning supplies and office supplies.
Make all necessary travel and lodging arrangements for staffs and visitors, and follow up on documentation as well as prompt payment
Be the focal person for hotel booking in both Gombe and Biu and ensure all payment is made in a timely manner.
Finance & Compliance Management:

Ensure compliance with donor and Mercy Corps regulations related to emergency programming.
Draft and/or review scope of work to hire and manage any technical consultants, including review for technical efficacy and contract budget.
Influence & Representation:

Identify, build and manage collaborative partnerships with consortium partners, sub-grantees, donors, local governments and other stakeholders.
Communicate effectively to ensure overall project targets and donor obligations are met.
Security:

Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by country leadership.
Proactively ensure that team members operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies.
Required Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor degree in a relevant field (preferred)
Minimum 2 year of experience working in operations (logistics or procurement), preferably within an NGO, international business or related field
Good organization skills, Ability to work under pressure
Show demonstrated ability to multi-task and process information into action to avoid delays in activities.
A clear understanding of procurement ethics and donor compliance is essential.
Good interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills
Strong computer skills on MS office programs
Fluency in English &Hausa is required.
